It is like we Indonesian punish any Aceh rebel leader who have killed any of Indonesian soldiers during Aceh war. The fact that the war has ended and we become brother again.

Hanging is also a very sadistic kind of punishment. If you want to kill somebody due to any mistake he has made, it should be done by slaughtering by sword, which is proven to be the quickest way to kill some body.

Thing is Indonesia is comfortable in its skin in the end (diversity with unity...helped at onset by having so many distinct islands etc). So of course Indonesia and countries like Indonesia (comfy in own skin, develop own system of nation over time etc) will settle internal conflicts over time lot better by providing buffer and scope for what the nation is and have a high diverse threshold.

BD is not. It has a psychology entrenched in it that it has to be completely absolutely one way or the absolute other way....so there is a ceaseless tug of war....and they always look outside for answers and just copy it (without understanding it) rather than try develop their own unique way.

The stark example of this complex is the drive/acceptance for partition and the resulting 2 wing nationhood and then sudden complete disavowal of that and then brittle counter-creation of ethnolingual-state with help from the initial stated ideological enemy...without even pausing to try understand what would the effect of that hypocrisy be long term (all the while blaming everyone else first, rather than introspect themselves).

Thus they create enemies outside and enemies inside again and again...its a zero sum game for them in the end because they value negativity, polarisation and dissonance (all the while projecting fantasies and dreams the opposite way for purely emotional rectitude). This all thus becomes a mob vs mob system and which one can suppress the other completely. Musical chairs game mixed in with russian roulette if you will.

Why that's there like that is a long story. But this is just the steady results you see emanating from that root issue....that they ultimately have a complex that gnaws at them....rather than one they seek to build something better from.
