BD eye's $1.7 b chinese loan for power project

Financing such big projects from internal resources is something which can not be done overnight. But Bangladesh is rapidly increasing it's share to finance the big projects. In the upcoming budget, mega projects will get 360 billion Taka from govt.'s own resources. Few years ago, we did not have this capability. This amount of money will continue to rise in coming years lessening the dependency on foreign loan.
Why it is overnight? Is not it already 71 years since 1947? During this period many countries have developed that includes also South Korea whereby BD keeps on surviving on donations from China and Japan.

Ask the govt to institutionalize the taxation system after thoroughly studying it in the successful countries, such as Singapore, Japan or South Korea. A country's economy can be as strong as its taxation system is. However, BD will be unable to do anything by itself even if it collects a $100 billion internal tax.

It will have to beg foreign companies to build its projects because local design and construction companies are not being nurtured. This is what all the successful countries did from the initial stage of development. Design work itself is quite difficult that may not be possible by BUET engineers who built the Teesta Barrage in a wrong location.

What a crap the people in BD? It is full of born imbeciles like @mb444 and @Black_cats who do not quite understand how to learn from other countries. This is why construction companies from South Korea had built our bridge when their and our economic history almost overlaps, and we are unable to do this by ourselves.

Your trolling skills are so elementary !

Here is a great fake Confucius quote for you, " Man who lives in glass house should change clothes in basement."

China has not stopped doing business with big bad evil USA.

Moral of this post : Money doesn't have any color on it, commie money is still money !

Humbly admit. You guys are much more professional when comes to trolling. After all, your lot have been trolling on China for over an year now.

Moral of this post: Don't do to others what you don't want others do to you. :partay:

By the way, I am all for the mutually beneficial partnership between China and Bangladesh, but you guys need to come down from your imaginary moral high horse when you are on the receiving end of "commie money", and refrain from lecturing Chinese on their internal business. You have lots of domestic problems to take care of.

Are not you talking about your status of mind whereby you criticize donor countries when your own country is unable to produce even the sewing needles? Why you guys have to criticize others when you are unable to do things? By reading your posts I now believe BD remains underdeveloped only because its citizens are just your copy. Do not embarrass BD by sending stupid posts all the time.

What donor country? They are not donating anything? A loan is not a donation and they are lending to make a profit.

Your nonsensical whining is fairly entertaining. You are trump level dumb!!!!

No, it is not even donation. It is pure almsgiving by a rich country to a poor incapable BD where people are as hollow as you are. You cannot do anything by yourselves. This is why the Govt has to seek donations. I wonder when BD will seek donations from Vietnam and Indonesia? How about that friendly country, the Philippines or Ethiopia?

Thank you for a great post.

I am also for mutual beneficial relationship. The issue with Rohingyas go back at least 40 years. Myanmar has tried doing it multiple times. People in BD generally believe that China's current economic relationship has emboldened Myanmar rulers to push out about million people therefore China should ( which you don't care much about) put some pressure on Myanmar. I understand China has its interest to serve its own people for that China needs to have access to a deep water port in Bay of Bengal along with minerals in Myanmar.

The loan for this particular project is agreed on 3%, a bit higher than what World Bank or ADB charges, but this loan does not have any intrusive clauses other than performance ( paying back on time ).

I am actually perfectly fine with the trajectory of current China-Bangladesh relationship. These relationships are not always linear as there are factors like India, Myanmar, and the good ol, USA in this case.

Bangladesh domestically is a very chaotic country. Law enforcement is a serious issue, traffic rules are mostly optional, and infrastructure needs major improvements.

Please clarify your understanding of donation and almsgiving as clearly you are using words that you do not know the meaning of.

BD is obtaining loans that it pays for. You are unable to refute this basic fact and rapidly descending into whining like a mindless retard. You know something i am going to assist this process cause its funny.

Huge FDI??? Indian FDI is 45 billion dollar and incressing....Vietnam is 15 I think. BD Is barely 3 billion....#BAL STRONK

Growing as we speak.
Germany and USA are putting finishes touches to 3 billion dollar power investment and China will pour in 2 billion into an integrated steel mill. There are many more as well.

Do not worry about FDI in BD. Its people have a different definition of FDI. All the loans/credits from external sources like IMF, WB, ADB, and Japan, China and India are considered as FDI. When Vietnam gets $30 billion FDI we get only $2 billion. Our govt then adds all the loans to FDI to look it better.

This investment level is also inconsistent whereby many countries including Japan is investing in Burma. Its Nissan and Toyota have finalized the decision to build factories there. Japanese people follow their leaders. Once Nissan and Toyota are there, many of their affiliated small and medium enterprises will rush there. Others will follow them and the total FDI will be mushrooming within a decade.

By the way, where is that SA FDI of $35 billion that the shameless GoB led by BAL was propagating will arrive soon?

I can smell who you are responding to - there is only ONE in this sub-forum. :P

I had him on 'ignore' for more than a year now and don't even miss the stupid posts. I had to resist the 'temptation' because it was such a spectacle to watch this half-educated idiot bleat like a goat in broken English.
