Well done Musharaf!
Ahmed was backed by Russia? Anyway, can his son survive the taliban? He may not survive tribal politics, and sabotaged by family members/tribesmen. !!ANA will fold in weeks
Ahmad Massoud the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud will most likely lead the fight against the Taliban
however I dont see anyone beating the Taliban not now and not in 20 years time
I remember 20 years ago how the west mainly American citizens and Bush administration were celebrating on the Talibans retreat out of Kabul.
20 years later the Taliban are back and on the verge of victory. Not even Hollywood could have wrote this script.
Lucky for them, this is neither 2000 nor 2020.it takes 100 special forces troops and USAF to beat them in year 2000. it will be the same story in year 2020

Generals care about their retirement. Make sure their kids are well educated and well settled in western countries. Yae, Jang Jung lower-ranking officers aur jawan ka kam hy. As long as conflict stays to a level where they do not have to lose their sleep, it all well and good and acceptable.Well done Musharaf!
They saw dollars and pounds coming in, Just like Iraqis on the streets of Bagdad in 2003. least they knew the US military might isn't there to pamper their ***.Looks like Afghans welcome everyone

In 2001 Taliban were given 3 days by Pakistan (and most probably US) to leave positions and return to their villages and/or cross into Pakistan. You will find many CNN and BBC news reporting in 2001, stating Taliban simply abandon their position and disappeared overnight. Many went underground waiting for the right time to come back and some switch loyalties for the highest bidder in typical Afghan style. 70% to 80% just disappeared. Pakistan allowed them to cross the border for 3 days before closing the border. Only a small percentage of hardcore stayed behind and did not survive.I remember 20 years ago how the west mainly American citizens and Bush administration were celebrating on the Talibans retreat out of Kabul.
