[BBC]100 Women: The Pakistani women shamed for their lifestyle

.
Lol it maybe a bit sexist but not unjust...it's the cultural norm. U r just letting ur tharak get in the way. I bet u wanna go the gym when it's just girls there :partay:

Unjust man .......... if I have tharak then they have tharak too, if I am not allowed during their time, they should also be not allowed during my time, but they are free and they come in and exercise during our time ........ you know how it feels when there are mirrors everywhere, you cannot bend, its uncomfortable in their presence .....

.
They have their own culture, religion and way of seeing life. If women in Pakistan are not happy about the way society treats them then they can migrate to another more liberal country. So I don't see what's the problem.
and the funny part is that the people who post such articles here should take a look at their own country, there's a special word affiliated with their capital city.

Lol wear appropriate gym clothes...and if u r in shape u should have no problem bending over...it only shows off ur glutes. Dude u know our culture...they r someone's daughters/sisters...they should be given privacy. However if there are enough number of men who want just men time bcuz they r shy then the gyms should provide as such. Personally I don't care if there's girls/women around in the gym...I just focus on my workout and that's it...u r only there for like an hour or two

I am kidding ............. its only to let people know the extent of freedom some Pakistani common women enjoy. No doubt the oppression is there, and no doubt excessive freedom is also there ..... but majority don't mind nor care too much.

This is just typical nonsense where somehow a hijab/burqa means no freedom for women whereas if they have skimpy clothes it is considered freedom. In reality women in Pakistan are free to wear whatever they want...as in hijab/burqa isn't enforced.

We should tag Pakistani girls/women on this thread to get their opinions on this.

My personal opinion is that everyone should just keep their opinions on what someone should wear or not to themselves. Live and let live.
Huh....we are saying the same thing dude.
Reason I said the ladies should respect the rule of the land and abide by the country's customs/social norms etc. If they don't like it they can migrate to a country that views things differently. So I believe it's up to them. Since they can expect their country to change its belief/culture/religious views//social norms because of them.
In conservative culture, Yes!
Ok I see.

Qandeel baloch is enough example to show how backward nd pathetic our soceity is regarding women .
Fact is women in Pakistan are happy and satisfied with the social culture in terms of dressing, sexual norms, and so on. Infact women in Pakistan see women of other cultures whoring themselves around, going from male to male to get fucked, and living childless lives and are utterly disgusted.

.

No sorry . We dont think the women in west utterly disgusting nd whores . This is what you ,your types of hypocrite pak men think of those women over there . Bashing the western women nd at sametime yearning to marry them or watch their websites .
Western women are women like us , living their lives their own way .. mothers , sisters , daughters , they r same as us so u better start respecting them too . I know y u hate them .. cause they r not dependent on u neither they agree with your pathetic ideas of how a woman should be ... u cant opress them thats y u hate them .
Ps: The actress Mahira Khan and her likes are pieces of shit. I have lost all my respect for her and so have millions of Pakistanis. She was one of the most adored Pakistani female celebrity but her pictures of wearing skirt and smoking has absolutely decimated her fan base in Pakistan. Good riddance.

And you are some holy pious person who hasnt done any sin in his life ..

Yes I know...I was agreeing with u and adding on my perspective...not arguing against u

She wasn't in one, actually. I don't know how it even became the topic of discussion, because it was a random picture, from her time in the United States. Hence, free to do, as she pleased, in the land of free. Because, she wasn't being culturally insensitive and rude, by doing it in one of our countries. Her personal life should be her own business. Why exactly do we need to comment on that? In what ways, does it concern us, in the first place?

Begaani shaadi mey Abdullah Diwana....:-)

You didn't get his/her drift. The article states that India is enlightened like the West (India Amrikaa ho gaya), and they want to 'emancipate' you to their 'level'. You are 'Islamic = backward'. This is the mantra of the RSS-trained bhakts.

Never mind the fact - that in India itself, rape and other abuse of women are a horrific problem and women are subject to despicable levels of misogyny themselves. There is no reason to call India a more 'improved' country in this regard. It is a crime to be born as a woman in India.

Indians should solve their own social problems first before commenting on Pakistan.

Indians trying to twist this story into smoking and wearing skirt

No sir
no such thing
This girl mahira has been disowned by majority of Pakistanis for one thing

Sleeping with the enemy

That’s why culture in Pakistan, and infact ENTIRE global Islamic world, remains deeply traditionally Islamic/conservative when it comes to dressing, sexual norms, family, marriage, children, gender roles, alcohol/drug consumption etc etc. It’s not that Muslim women “long” for some sexual revolution—infact, they despise the degeneracy and inferior social culture (in their view) that has come about in the outside lands with all the whoredom, drinking, out of wedlock children, destruction of family and traditional values, and so on.

Therefore even in a country like Turkey, where Westernization/secularization was imposes via education and state, the social culture remained deeply Islamic and liberal-secularism was rooted out after organic political movements arose via civil society.

Whats with you, lately? You happened to be balanced and rational. A lot of such talk doesn't stem from any genuine love for the religion and genuine religiosity. Never! And take it from someone who's spent his time at both phases. It stems from a need to affirm to oneself that one is genuinely religious. Its hypocritical to point out things and raise your fingers at those, which you yourself do and yourself enjoy. I know Pakistanis, majority of them who were abusing her for those pictures, would be adding to the statistics which has Pakistan coming out in the top ten of **** viewers in the world. Too much hypocrisy, I see, in our people. Praising your country's women along with suggestions for improvement would have been the logical step, more than fine. But generalizing the women in the West and pointing out only the mistakes in the society of your adopted country - the USA? Seriously?

And have you ever been to Turkey? Because the land of Istanbul, is a world of stark contrast too, with both sides respecting the other and recognizing the right to freedom, guaranteed in the country's constitution. The type of Islam that Turks practice and prefer, is nowhere close to our people. They don't have this "holier than thou" attitude.

Well, it depends, as always. In the urban areas, its more than satisfactory. In rural areas, the situation can improve a lot. If it is someone's personal choice, it doesn't matter. But coercion comes in many forms, always remember that.

"But Mahira - seen smoking and "hanging out" - is too much to handle for a nation that is still not comfortable with independent and empowered women."

This is the problem that foreign sponsored libturds simply do not understand or refusing to comprehend. The definition of "women empowerment" and "independence" is NOT defined within Pakistani society by the understanding and meaning given to these phrases by western civilization.

Pakistani society empower women in its real essence. We have by the power of vote, send a woman twice to the highest office in our country. These days, a woman, a daughter of ex PM is screwing things for the state of Pakistan through her abuse of power just because she happens to be from influential clan. How much empowerment they need?

We have our ways and we dont need these sermons from these sh|tholes. They better sell their non sense to India, which has been a success story as far as adopting western ways and thinking.

On the ball.

They hate Western women so much but wouldn't think twice about jumping the band wagon if it came to Settling down with one or moving here.

Forget settling, that is too far. And forget thinking twice, a heartbeat is more accurate.

Oh, they don't hate Western women, they are required to pretend that they do, in front of their own people. Its mostly conformance and expediency, at play. Most of the people in this thread, don't exactly believe what they have written, to be true. But, they know, that is what the public would like to hear. Playing to the gallery, simply.

The person outside whose home you can see the "No marketing agents" sign is more likely to be persuaded by one. He knows it, of course.
