Bashundhara MD sued for abetting suicide after woman found dead in Gulshan flat

Women will sometimes use the only thing available to them to leverage a better position for themselves, which is their charm and beauty to "snag a wealthy man". This woman had no family or money to speak of, and this was her only avenue to wealth.

I guess a bit on the naïve side, when she should have half-known that this man could pretty much afford to have housed dozens of women like her across Dhaka.

She was not as innocent as it is shown by the media or her sister tried to pretend. Both Munia and Anvir are bad people.

Don't measure all women with the same yardstick.

Look and ye shall find the righteous one.

Don't "settle" for anything second best (looks AND character, this person will bear your children).

Allah will find you your match but you have to keep looking....look harder now so your parents don't drop something on your lap that you have to "accept". Too many guys wait for things to happen...

Get to know them (and look at their parents too). Apple doesn't fall far from the tree...
Unfortunately not many girls worth marrying around me and those who’re won’t marry a guy who hasn’t settled yet... I’ve a couple more years of being a nomad before settling for dough so even if I find someone it won’t be permanent. Already learnt that the hard way in Kuwait years ago.
my parents won’t force me and neither am I the kind to bent to peoples will.
but if I’ve learnt anything this past five years, women always marries up. Never down, and if they marry across the same social status they always on the lookout to jump to the higher money branch. Be it muslim, Christian or any other
Also with women action speaks louder than words and after I've seen the average, it’s not worth it. Money and stability matters more in my life than love of a woman. Love always conditional for a man 🤷🏻‍♂️
And the only unconditional love a man might have is from his parents so 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
She was not as innocent as it is shown by the media or her sister tried to pretend. Both Munia and Anvir are bad people.

Lol it’s always the full blown religious ones that end up in shit sandwiches. I know a couple from my high school days 😂

Well spoken Mr. Mike. You are well situated as far as planning.

Yes women will always marry up - but there are very good folks (sometimes extremely honest and educated folks) who do not have a lot of money. Daughters of academics come to mind.

But if you're convinced not to partner with a woman at this time, then I respect your choice.

The plaintiff Nusrat, in a case statement, said that her sister had told her that the accused would marry her and that they would live abroad, especially since if they remained in Bangladesh, Sayem’s parents would kill Munia, even if they would do nothing about their son.
Why Police arresting Sayem and why not his greedy and moneyed mother or parents? His mother was threatening Munia of killing her. These people are just nouveau rich showing their money power to intimidate others.

What a disgusting society BD has built where only money can talk, dictate and kill innocent people. We ought to be proud of them!!

Munia is very unlucky. Long Live Rich People of Golden Bangladesh!! I can feel there are some nouveau rich in the PDF as well.

Munia type of girls exists in every sub urban areas of Bangladesh. This is a common scenario now.

I have seen many girls from sub urban areas or small towns like Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Rajshahi etc who settle in Dhaka city after getting enrolled in any private universities like NSU, IUB, East West etc

Private universities of Bangladesh are dens of posh and spoon feeded children and in order to survive in this environment, a normal girl coming from a sub urb believes she needs to change herself.

First she changes her outlook. From wearing expensive makeup all the time to wearing unnecessarily fancy dress 24*7, she does everything to change her getup.

Then comes boyfriend. These sort of women usually are not interested in serious relationship. For them boys are ATM cards to be used, that's it. Once they find another rich kid, then the former one is a nobody to her.

Also on a serious note, these women are absolute bitcches. You cannot even talk to them in a decent manner. Hypocrisy and backbiting runs in their veins.

Munia type girls are those women who forget their roots. They come from a sub urban area and turns into a monster once they land in Dhaka city.

Comparing to them, I find girls born and bred in Dhaka city much more decent and caring. They act normal and does not suffer from insecurity.

I know a girl who studied from Scholastica, an elite level English medium school in Dhaka, now she is studying in NSU. She is filthy rich but you will neither see her wearing makeup 24*7, neither you will see her acting like a bittcch.

Is this the co for which the district in Dhaka is called?
There is a township called Basundhara in Dhaka. But, Basundhara is also a big company with many different lines of business. The two are unrelated. I mean Basundhara Co., does not own Basundhara township.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong here.

They do. Bashundhara Residential area is owned by Bashundhara Group. Their major business is real estate development.

Years of land grabbing at gun point, and now they are a multi billion taka company.

I think they had to give back some of the river areas (Buriganga shores) around Dhaka. along with other land grabbers when the BIWTA started reclaiming the land stolen from the shores by force.

Two bit goondas/thugs becoming "entrepreneurs" all of a sudden by alliance to the party in power.

College Girl’s Death: Family irked by poor probe progress

Our Correspondent, Cumilla

Family of the college girl found dead in a Gulshan flat has expressed frustration and dissatisfaction as police have not yet arrested or even interrogated Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, who stands accused of abetting her suicide.
"My sister was in a relationship with Anvir who promised her to marry and settle abroad. On April 26 morning, my sister called me and said Anvir would not marry her and had scolded her. She also said she is in trouble and an accident may happen anytime," said the victim's elder sister, who filed the case against Anvir.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel.
"It is already two weeks since the body of my sister was recovered, but police are yet to collect the call record of Anvir's mobile phone," she told The Daily Star yesterday.

Police recovered the body hanging from the ceiling fan in her bedroom on April 26. Her legs were touching the bed and both knees were a little bent, said the complainant in the case statement.
The victim's sister said she and her husband went to Dhaka on Wednesday as police wanted to speak to them.

They met deputy commissioner of Gulshan division, an additional deputy commissioner and the investigation officer of the case, also the officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station where she lodged the case on July 27.
"Police confirmed us that they have found evidence that suggests Anvir had instigated my sister to take her life. But police did not quiz him yet," the victim's sister said.

She added that the ADC during the meeting assured them that they would submit a charge sheet against Anvir for abetting the suicide after completing the probe.
She said the officer also told her that there are some issues in arresting Bashundhara Group MD and they could not arrest him without permission from the higher authorities as the case is filed under Section 306 of the Penal Code.
The victim's sister also said immediately after her sister's death, she was in trauma and had missed some noticeable issues that she failed to mention in the complaint.
The fully furnished flat was chosen by Anvir that means he was already acquainted with the flat/building authority, she added. There is no grill in the dining room balcony and anyone can enter the flat through the balcony from the back side or from adjacent flat or building to avoid CCTV cameras.
"We asked the police to investigate this point, but police apparently did not take my point into consideration," she added.
She alleged that her sister was murdered by Bashundhara Group MD. "If Anvir is innocent, then why some of his family members left the country," she questioned.
The complainant also alleged that the Bashundhara Group is using its influence on a section of media to assassinate her sister's character. "Even the Bashundhara Group had persuaded their only brother to file a murder case against Sharun in this connection possibly to divert the focus against Anvir," she said.
The brother who had no contracts with the sisters for the last two years following a dispute with them over ancestral land lodged the case against Nazmul Karim Chowdhury Sharun, son of Awami League lawmaker and parliament whip Shamsul Haque Chowdhury, with a Dhaka court on May 1.
After recording the complainant's statement, the court ordered that all proceedings of the murder case would be stayed until the probe report over abetting suicide of the college girl is completed.
Shafiul Ahmed Babul, commander of Cumilla Muktijoddha Sangsad, said, "The victim was a daughter of a freedom fighter. We want proper investigation and immediate arrest of Bashundhara Group MD. "
The death of the girl created stir and there were protests in Cumilla and Dhaka

I disagree

India BD , the problem is newly rich. A massive upgrade in lifestyle in very short amount of time. That is the main problem. This was always there. Not everyone can handle this easily.

combine that with a society where only " money " is given value, you have the recipe for the Munia scenario.

This Munia case is basically a small shark got eaten by a larger shark.

What is shocking though is not a single word has been uttered by the BD feminist community. I wonder why..

What you said I don't disagree with, but I guess my issue is beneath the surface. Why do we constantly associate our culture with India (when India has numerous states)? Do we need to "tark liek dis" just because the next group of people are?

I watch YouTube all the time and I can't help but notice the impact of Indian culture, when BDeshis look west they look at India as the model Hollywood and land of aspiring culture (metaphorically speaking).

About money, a cousin from BD who came here for 6 months and lived with me for his whole time told me a gangster is some who has a lot of money, which in some sense he is absolutely right, but a gangster is someone who is brushing his ego time after time if you dwell on it.

Poisapoisa poisa, these kids are selling up ancestral land to feed their egos and much sought after lifestyle. We are too materialistic and spoon fed. No simplicity or humbleness barring the poor. Bangali have become 'ammar fuwain' if you knows that means.

Rant ended lol.

Well its partially due to the fact that BD India pak were one countries once so some cultural value will be same or similar.

But mainly because BD media is sellout to India.
