Barzani: Baghdad has 'declared war' on Iraqi Kurdistan | Iraq | Worldbulletin News
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) president Masoud Barzani challenged Baghdad's refusal to pay government employees' wages and that this was a "declaration of war".
The president of the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq, Masoud Barzani, has said that the Baghdad-based central Iraqi government's refusal to pay government employees in the region their wages is a declaration of war.
Barzani challenged Baghdad's refusal to pay government employees' wages saying "By not paying government employees their wages, the Iraqi central government has put Kurdistan under a blockade".
Noting that no one has the right to cut off government employees' wages, Barzani said such a move was illegal and was seen as a "declaration of war against the people of Kurdistan".
Baghdad has accused the Erbil-based Barzani administration of breaching the constitution by entering negotiations with Turkey over the export of northern Iraqi oil. Barzani, however, insists that his dealings regarding the oil are completely constitutional.
Glad they quit feeding the enemy barzani
