Barzani: Baghdad has 'declared war' on Iraqi Kurdistan | Iraq | Worldbulletin News

Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) president Masoud Barzani challenged Baghdad's refusal to pay government employees' wages and that this was a "declaration of war".

The president of the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) in northern Iraq, Masoud Barzani, has said that the Baghdad-based central Iraqi government's refusal to pay government employees in the region their wages is a declaration of war.

Barzani challenged Baghdad's refusal to pay government employees' wages saying "By not paying government employees their wages, the Iraqi central government has put Kurdistan under a blockade".

Noting that no one has the right to cut off government employees' wages, Barzani said such a move was illegal and was seen as a "declaration of war against the people of Kurdistan".

Baghdad has accused the Erbil-based Barzani administration of breaching the constitution by entering negotiations with Turkey over the export of northern Iraqi oil. Barzani, however, insists that his dealings regarding the oil are completely constitutional.

On Tuesday, the Iraqi government cut the salaries of the staff of the Kurdish region,”

Glad they quit feeding the enemy barzani

About freaking time? :/ ..

I hope the US won't be posing an embargo on Iraq though.

In case they do, we can grab the F-16s

It’s not really a declaration of war, Barzani only says, they violate the law so they cut the salaries nothing illegal

Kurds want to steal the oil of Iraq, they were hosted nicely by the country.
Barzani is of course JEW

Maliki needs to show some muscles for his supporters before elections but after that things will go back to normal , nothing really special here.

he has other choices , if F-16 cancelled Russia would be more than happy to offer SU-30

actually an independent kurdish state offers you energy independence for 250 years.
There are other consequences involved in a independent Kurdish state, just let it stay autonomous in Iraq.

They already cut the salaries of January & February, Baghdad isn’t paying, that’s $ 800 mil of KRG employee salaries till now.

All KRG does is live on Iraq’s money, better to cut it they can do what they want, they hate us to death yet won’t gtfo, leeches

I am not suprised since i read somewhere that Iraq will go Bust by 2017, the amount of corruption and lower oil revenue will create a civil war in south Iraq way before the kurds even get involved.
