Bangladesh's Olympic shame

Summer olympic being dominated by Western countries is false assumption, Asian, Arabs (Persian) and African had their fair share too. Unfortunately, for many Asean countries we had to compete in same sports events against sport super power likes USA and China.

Many sports doesnt associated themselves with gene pool, events like badminton, tennis, gymnastics, swimming, shooting, archery is very open for any races to compete for. Cant be said for running though

Have you been to these "Indian" restaurants run by your ilk? It isn't Bengali food let me assure you....if it can be called food at all.

I respond in kind in language such scum will get into their thick dense brains. Don't give a hoot what you or others think about me.

Better posters know my actual opinions on other Indians and not this false flagging "senior member" refugee looking idiot.

And certainly not a 2-patent-a-year Bangladeshi scum like doyalbaba.....which you seem to be yourself seeing how you've gone into whiney butthurt mode.

It's funny because I realised that too, he calls Bengalis "coolies", which is so ironic because I always hear yardies referring to the Tamil folk behind the counter at Roosters Piri Piri as coolies, or what you would picture the Indian customer services agent for T-Mobile to look like. Bangladeshi restaurant owners who advertise as Indian cuisine simply do it to attract more customers and rightly so because the dishes are usually Indian. We have Bangladeshi restaurants which dedicate to our cuisine such as Hajjir Biryani, Fakruddin Biryani, Dhakai Bakharkhani etc etc

I'm messing bruv, good idea though?

Bangladesh, once again, returned empty-handed from the Olympics this year, retaining its title of the ‘most populous country to have never won an Olympic medal’. At the start of the Rio Olympics, Bangladesh was one of 75 countries with no Olympic medals. Fiji, another such country, squashed its record of Olympics duck when its rugby team won the gold and the country’s first ever medal at the Olympic Games in the inaugural men’s rugby sevens competition. Kosovo achieved a similar feat when double world champion Majlinda Kelmendi clinched the gold in the women’s jude 52 kg category, putting the recently-independent country on the medal table for the first time. But Bangladesh, along with the likes of war-ravaged Congo and Rwanda, failed to secure any medals at Rio, prompting very little curiosity or concern from Bangladeshis worldwide, who seem to only have high expectations when it comes to the national cricket team.

there is nothing to be ashamed. we have bigger things to worry about like feeding ourselves

Here is your poverty rate in UK:

http://www.poverty.org.uk/06/index.shtml

Within this, there are big variations by ethnic group. More specifically, the proportion of people who live in low-income households is:
  • 20% for White people.
  • 30% for Indians and Black Caribbeans.
  • 50% for Black Africans.
  • 60% for Pakistanis.
  • 70% for Bangladeshis.
-------------------------------------------------

:So you tell me who has a higher chance of being a real-life "coolie"?

Yes you are right no one would be much interested in going to a "Bangladeshi" restaurant....so low IQ riffraff from BD have no other choice but to pose and try their best to ride Indian identity coat-tails.

I'm glad the UK govt separates you lot ethnically (as hard as you pass off trying to be Indian) and show you your poverty and median wages (which are still lower than what Indians earned in the 80s)....you would pull down our average drastically....yuck!

Geez guys, we are terribly sad with what we got.. But we know it will get better.

The more GDP per capita rises, the more people get a chance to have spare time for hobbies like sport.

Focus on increasing your wealths and your countries will also start getting very successful results.

A new face of poverty is emerging in Brooklyn.

Recent U.S. Census data shows that the borough’s Bangladeshi community is poorer than blacks, whites, or Latinos living in the county.

The Asian American Federation found that 53.9 % of Bangladeshis living in Brooklyn are poor - the highest rate among the city’s eight largest Asian immigrant groups.

They are even poorest in the worlds richest city. Lol

Wow I was under impression they were doing much better in the US seeing how they didnt flood in all their #$%$ masses of ppl like they did in UK.....i.e more selective higher quality for the US.

But looks like that impression was wrong. 54% probably means pretty close to 70% household poverty just like UK....since its also around that rate (55% or something) I remember reading for individual poverty rate of BDeshi origin people in UK recently.

Then this gem inserted in there:

"
He now runs a health program at NYU centered on teaching Bangladeshis how to eat better. A third of New York’s Bangladeshis suffer from diabetes, said Haq, three times the city’s average rate.

Their food is too starchy; they eat too much rice,” Haq said."

Such facepalm.

Someone that cares has to do this analysis for the ones in Toronto. I've seen/heard about plenty of these types there too.

post reported....and that is the most ironic abuse I have ever seen..considering you are an Indian and this abuse has very historic Indian connection....and if population(rather than infrastructure economy and opportunity) is the main criterion for Olympic medals your argument doesn't make your country(that you are somehow trying to defend here) look any better....India is the 2nd most populous country in the world....let us compare their performance with the 1st and 3rd most populous countries 28 versus 2500+ and 500+ .

India sent 117 athletes to compete, they got like two lame medals. BD sent 7 to get nothing, which was expected. It is certainly a better return on investment.

Only Indians would do chest thumping after winning two pathetic medals.

How many Bangladeshi Athletes Qualified for Olympics this time... and how many got through Continental Quota.?

How many BD athletes actually QUALIFIED for their discipline? You actually need to make an investment to judge its return....not just say oh we sent "7" as quota fillers and think that amounts to shit regarding an "investment".

Shall we compare the Return on investment for the commonwealth games and asian games where BD at least wins a medal occasionally (so an actual ratio can be computed)?

Now I know why british ran away from subcontinent. If they had spent some more time in subcontinent we would taken them to our levels and beaten them left , right & center. They would be glad now that they have not mired in tu tu -mein mein culture. I can understand the rivalry between US & china or russia. But about who is the biggest loser in olympics is beyond any reasoning. :pissed:

May be among the losers :
Indian sports minister ==> special platinum medal for representing sub continent.
Pakistan ==> gold medal (7 athletes of 18 )
bangladesh ==> silver medal (7 out of 16)
India ==> 2 medals ( 120 out of uncountable...)

. .
Now I know why british ran away from subcontinent.
British ran way because they realised the subcontinent was inhabitee by huge population throughout and they can't genocide them easily. Their initial thoughts must have been to settle here like they were able to in Aus, North America, South America.

Do you like to talk out of your bum hole? If it makes you feel better that you take your lies and gradually start believing it then go ahead. But no where in the world does a Bangladeshi try to "pass" as an Indian. That's a crock of shite. No one wants to be labelled an Indian because they all smell like dry milk and own one stops and fashion the thickest Indian accent, THAT is called a coolie. If anyone is passing off as anything it's your kind who add white surnames, Randy, John, Garry the whole lot. And when the White mans racist nature comes out it's usually the Indian Takkan that gets the mashing, so much for trying to be white. I see the begging nature is usually in the Gujjis. Btw those financial stats mean nothing when you can't have a bath.

No Bangladeshi wants to be known as an Indian you fool, I'm trying to make you understand. LOL. Trust me calling someone an Indian is super super offensive. Pakistanis take it very offensively actually.
