Bangladesh's brand value $508bn more than twice of Pakistan’s $232bn, 10 times of Sri Lanka’s $48bn

Are you suggesting that BDs censor themselves for the sake of others? Every country publicises success, I do not see why we should not.

It is not being done to denigrate anyone, if someone thinks its a dig at them its their issue, nothing to do with us.

No one is forced to read the article or comment .... just move on if it not your thing.

No. On the contrary, we should not care what some random racist and triggered nobody think of us. But we should not be picking up fights unnecessarily either. All I am calling for is calm and maturity.

Given the context and timing, some of these threads are not entirely for publicizing success. Anyone can see that from miles away.

@ThunderCat

I wonder why Nigerians don't spend their lifetime on our forums comparing their country and economy to ours.

Nigerians spend a lifetime on the defense forums of Niger, Chad, Ghana etc

Regards

Stop BAL propaganda. Why do you have to always open a thread that compares BD with Pakistan?

Is not this forum called PDF? Why make relations with Pakistani posters without a good reason except that you believe in the BAL falsehood?

please do not do it anymore. Quarreling with Pakistanis should be avoided.

What’s the source of this ranking? Is it BAL? If not stop this bickering.

The research was carried out in UK and BD newspaper picked it up and got reported here.

Alongside these positive we have news of repression of freespeech, adani power scam, BAL action to steal another election, etc also being reported here.

Those who thought they were superior to BD are getting triggered. There is no need for us to cater to their feelings. Nothing is happening here that has not been the norm.

I guess every one needs a underwear.

Only thing is I doubt even though Americans buy their clothing at cheap prices from Walmart, they probably don't even know what "proudly made in Bangladesh means." They can't even conceptualize what Bangladesh means or where it is on the map.

In the meantime, Americans buy more expensive, non-essential Pakistani goods while knowing where it was built:

Bangladesh's brand value rose by a record 37% to $508bn in 2023, up from $371 billion in 2022, according to Brand Finance, a chartered accountancy firm regulated by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

"Bangladesh emerges as one of the fastest-growing nation brands in the ranking, recording 37% year-on-year growth," reads a report published on Global Soft Power Index 2023 by the Uk-based firm.

As per the report, Bangladesh's brand value in 2023 is $508 billion, which is more than twice the value of Pakistan ($232 billion) and over ten times compared to that of Sri Lanka ($48 billion).

Meanwhile, India topped the brand value list in South Asia with a whopping $2,924 billion.

With the latest ranking, Bangladesh is now the 97th Soft Power nation up from 105 out of 121 countries.

Calling Bangladesh one of the finest economies, the brand valuation consultancy said, "The Bangladesh economy is one of the finest examples of remarkable economic development and is the World Bank's proclaimed model for 'poverty reduction'.

"As Bangladesh gains global appreciation as one of the fastest-growing South Asian economies, its nation brand sees the highest increase in value and ranking within the 2023 ranking," it added.

Germany, Japan, India, United Kingdom, France, Canada, Italy, and South Korea have consistently ranked in the top 10 of Brand Finance's rankings over the years.

Highlights from this year's Global Soft Power Index 2023:

  • Russia's reputation plummets sending it down the ranking
  • Ukraine sees strongest soft power improvement this year
  • Stable results for the top 3 superpowers: US, UK, Germany
  • Japan swaps places with China in the top 5
  • The UAE enters the top 10 for the first time
  • Nordic nations benefit from sustainability perceptions
  • The top 30 without Latin American or Sub-Saharan African nations
  • Sri Lanka sees steepest fall in ranking following crisis
I think it below the dignity of BD to compare itself to Pakistan in 2023.
BD and India have far surpassed Pakistan and Afganistan. Pakistan is a failed nation, it was bound to fail since 1971 when it's cash cow East Pak broke free.

Will that photograph disprove this ranking. If you want talk about the topics and stop bringing off topic comments.

A few hundred $ more per capita is just about two large bank heist away . There are more projects payments going to be due later this year.
It's like living in the hood claiming my house is better, that just maybe true but it is still in the hood !

Don’t take this $hit seriously.

Why would they stop BAL propaganda now? Its time for them to double down on it.

Especially after forex will now show (by IMF standards rather than BAL-tard standard) ~ 20 billion USD instead of whatever 40 or 50 billion the BAL-clowns invested all that time trumpeting here for feel good.

Who knows at whichever point this "brand value" study used some underlying BAL given fluff number(s) at some point too.

We can all see what Bangladesh market capitalisation (an actual number like forex, not some "study") is in the end and by extension the ratio analysis with neighbourhood and peers....and again what are BD actual challenges in the end that time is better spent on discussing, rather than starting gun 1st lap but its a marathon premature chest thump.

Why BAL blab always is at some great dissonance with hard numbers in end looks to be a long term story of its own...maybe needing its own study (though BAL and its total sycophants wont allow it of course).

You probably one of those here that know all this best here bluesky (having read your posts over a while).

From this same immature brat complex comes the same need to start such threads endlessly to create strife with Pakistanis during Ramzan of all times.

I honestly don't see the points of these threads. It's getting repetitive and frankly turning people off to visit this section of the forum. I get that the BD newspapers publish these every once in a while for brownie points with BAL, but here it serves no other purpose than bunch of triggered people from both camps fighting against each other parroting the same things over and over again. This is like the 3rd or 4th such thread in last couple of days. Just because there is a news article on Bangladesh, doesn't mean we have to post it. It just makes Bangladeshis in general look like attention seekers.

We still have to improve a lot in every sector, and we should set the the benchmark against the likes of Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and try to emulate their success in economic and social development. We work towards it, our hard work will speak for itself.

We don't need to care about what some racist individuals from other countries thinks of us and nor should we need to feel the need to prove ourselves to them.
For what it's worth, I am enjoying these threads, while they last. In the 60s we compared ourselves to South Korea. Then from the 90s onwards, we were comparable to India. Now, we are comparing ourselves to BD. Pretty soon, we'll be measuring dicks with Somalia.

Jiye Bhutto!!!!!!!

PK is 84 and BD 97. You cherry picked ranking that you want to post here? BD isnt ahead according to this ranking so Idk why you still keep on repeating it.

Atleast post the entire thing if you are that concerned about rankings.

no worries, Pakistanis are fighting a war of independence from Pakistan Army and once that is done then we will see whose brand goes where, Although BD have a 50 years head start in this but Pakistan will win :)
