Bangladeshi tourists contribute to growth of Indian economy

Sunderbans is considered Indian forest even though 60% is in Bangladesh. We only have Cox's Bazar sea beach. Sylhet and Chittagong hilly areas are tourist attractions but these are not popular destinations. Only Cox's Bazar is popular.

coxs-bazarBangladesh-.jpg
its not considered Indian forest. Its much cheaper to go on Indian side, bd side is expensive, not sure why.
I agree they can develop hilly areas for foreign tourists..

Grapes r sour..:laugh::laugh:
lol.. I forgot you got rivers, you can have river tourism..

.
Why do you always have to belittle Bangladesh every times?Cox's bazar is the only tourist spot? Did you forgot Sunradbans, Kuakata beach in Patuakhali, Rangamati,Bandarban hill station,UNESCO world heritage sites like Paharpur Vihara,Somepur Vihara,Bagherhat 60 dome mosque? There are also sites like Wari Bateswar,Mahasthangar archeological site,Lalmai hills in Comilla Maynamati Royal complex with Buddhist Vihara. We have a number of Eco tourism park like Dulahazra safari park,Lauachara Jatiyo Uddan,Sitakunda eco park,Chaunati wildlife sanctuary,Ram sagar wildlife sanctuary,Teknaf game reserves. We have beautiful islands like St.Martins,Nijhum Dwip,Maheskhali island which if managed could be famous tourist spot.I didn't even entered Sylhet division, here one can find hundreds of Tea estate, waterfalls, forest, gentle hillls, there are world class resorts like Grand Sultan palace,DuSai etc in Sylhet. You can enjoy river cruise along hundreds of our revers, there are vast Chalan bill,Tanguar haor measuring hundreds of square km. along with many other Haors where you can enjoy breath taking natural scenery,Bard watching, fishing.Do I have to say more?

Well let the world hear about it then. Tourist promotion and ease of travel to Bangladesh is next to zero. Maybe a BBIN tourist circuit can be planned and implemented in the local region?

Indian member worry because most of them are bigot hindutva with zero intelligence.Otherwise they would have thought how can country having only 1/8 of population of India can be capable of significantly alter the hindu demographic majority in India when their population growth is no higher then ours? It's like saying Nepal will overwhelm Bangladesh with their hindu population when Nepal have 2.5 crore and BD have 16 crore population. But brainless Bharati hindutva will scare the Bangladeshi muslim juju to the detrimental of their physical and mental health.Funny this is the main political issue in god forsaken assam, west Bengal and whatever itchy-bitchy bharati state.

Well they have a paranoia, but its not totally unfounded. Bangladeshis do not need to overwhelm, but present enough of a swing vote + demographic issue when they reach even 10% or 20% of one of the border states (and many claim in areas its higher). How many of them are a gain, and how many are a drain (or the exact gain/drain ratio economy wise) is very fuzzy and hard to determine.

Anyways that is another issue for separate topic. Bangladeshi tourists obviously do not present such an issue or it would have been reported many years ago (overstaying/absconding etc) by the media. So I definitely believe this echelon of people are very welcome to expand and increase their footprint in Indian tourism and overall connections. It also is a big slap on face of those that say that huge majority of Bangladeshis hate India and want nothing to do with India etc (your own hate brigades that frequent defence boards).

there is little to see in bd apart from sundarbans from a tourist's point of view.. cox's bazar has just a beach, but not the infra associated with a beach life.

What friggin' infra are you talking about? Infra to smoke weed? Don't have that....

Goa and Pondicherry are supposedly your best beach towns, and the hotels in Cox's Bazaar have had and does boast facilities that are equal or better than them in every way. Here's a so-so hotel. There are about a couple dozen hotels like this and scores of mediocre ones...

https://defence.pk/threads/restaurants-in-dhaka.338723/page-20#post-8249532

Oh - I forgot. They don't ban locals in Cox's Bazaar from the beach because local idiots are groping or trying to rape foreign women. that's the part we don't have. Imagine being an Indian and being banned in your own country for your own low class habits....

There are some private beaches in Goa and Pondicherry where owners only allow foreigners. In support of such discrimination they state that Indians make lusty gazes and throw lewd comments to bikini clad foreigner women. Tharkis....:disagree:

Its true, just a very long beach with no beach activities. No water sports, diving, water scooting. Standing just on beach wont do. Private sectors want to start some but red tapes, local conservative societies are making barriers to them. Long way to go indeed.

But the new tourist city has now all ranges of hotels cheap to luxury. Just what todo there is a problem. Agreeing with the post.

And Indian members need not worry, Bangladesh middle class has strong roots to their home country (thats where they have their jobs, families etc)...the illegal immigrants are mostly the poor and dispossessed who have run out of options and are drawn to the large economy of scale India has....and that stream was mostly from 10 - 20 years back (since India has clamped down on the border lately and conditions have improved noticeably in Bangladesh).

Ohh you know we have a middle class then. Good to know. Every day 2500 persons get visa. Just count 2500 person X 300 days X 300$ (Endorsed dollar). We give you a great amount of bucks dude. Be thankful.

It's not the number of tourists that matter but how much they spend.

Far better to have fewer tourists from high spending demographics than many from low spending demographics.

In South Asia, Bhutan has the best policy for tourism. they simply don't encourage low budget tourists and this has kept their mountains, forests and monasteries pristine.

I think Maldives attracts high end tourism, without trying to 'preserve culture' . bhutan tourism is quite restrictive if you are not from India/bd/maldives, I dont get preserving culture bit, its a tiny bit racist.

Lol...dude you are liberal to the extreme. Not everyone can or should be treated equally. Some cultures are more worth preserving than others.

Bhutanese culture is one of the most amazing in the world. They measure gross national happiness rather than gross national product. How cute is that!

They build power plants within mountains so as not to upset nature and then paint the walls of the caves with pictures of their gods. How very cute is that!

They refuse to have any polluting industries within their country so the air, soil and water remains fresh and clean. The head of their government goes to work on a bicycle. How amazing is that!

Not many countries know the difference between wisdom and knowledge.

The Bhutanese are wise. Hopefully they remain so.

There is nothing liberal about it, bhutanese PM himself said GNH cannot hide corruption or poverty or inaction to remove them(or something similar). Just because bhutanese people are happy bunch does not mean its all good.
All these fads come at a price, bhutan is among poorest country in the world, with little infra, and relies heavily on India. Majority of its export is electricity to India, and its air defence is India's responsibility.

In an adults world, none of this is cute and bhutan is like a teenage princess.

Its illegally available, if you ask a hotel staff for local/burmese alcho - they will anyhow manage that for you. But legally availability will never be possible atleast at coxsbazaar. Cause Coxsbazaar people are pious muslims with conservative mentalities. Most of the coxsbazaar people has deep root from Arakan. They are not like general bengali's who mostly are liberally maintaining religion (Hindu/Muslim).

The Bhutanese are not destitute by any means. Theirs is the middle way - not too rich , not very poor.

Which is more important being happy or being wealthy? Ask any wealthy pill popping socialite, what he / she would rather have - peace of mind or more money. There is little intrinsic value in accumulation of wealth as a goal in itself.

Let's agree to disagree on this. If you keep cr@pping on the Bhutanese I'll have to fight with you which I don't want to do. The few Bhutanese I have met are among the kindest, most decent human beings, (much like the Tibetans) may their kind live long and prosper.

they are not a middle income country. Even if the population is happy, it does not mean they cant improve their future, or should not aspire to be better. What possibly can happen by contact of foreigners? Are they going to ban internet too, which is more influential than contact with foreigners.

I know their kids are cute, the king is handsome and queen is cute, and people are friendly, all these might give you a warm fuzzy feeling(add buddhism to the mix). But they also have expelled nearly 100,000 Nepalese origin settlers who are refugees in various countries.
