'Mentally imbalanced' headmaster held his ears willingly: Salim Osman

Terming humiliated Narayanganj headmaster Shyamal Kanti 'mentally imbalanced', local member of parliament (MP) AKM Salim Osman on Thursday said the teacher did the sit-ups holding his ears willingly to save his life after criticising Islam.

Salim claimed this at a press conference at the Narayanganj Club, flanked by over hundred party men.

When asked if he is sorry for this at a time the whole country is saying 'sorry sir', he countered the journalists with another question. "Who should I say sorry to? The one who made remarks about Allah was punlished. I will never ever say sorry, even if I die," said Salim.

Although he admitted that making a teacher do sit-ups holding his ears is a crime, the lawmaker claimed that he did so to save Shyamal Kanti's life. Saying that devout Muslims demanded the teacher be punished that day, Salim said, "Are we living in the age of Iblish? You give the answer."

Humiliated Narayanganj teacher reinstated

Publicly humiliated Narayanganj headmaster Shyamal Kanti, who was suspended for allegedly criticising Islam, has been reinstated.

Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid said this at a press conference in Dhaka on Thursday.

The minister said the probe committee formed to investigate the issue did not find any truth of the allegations against Shyamal Kanti and that the school committee illegally suspended the headteacher.

The school managing committee has been dismantled, too, Nahid added.

On 17 May, the school authorities suspended Shyamal Kanti days after he was publicly humiliated by local member of parliament (MP) AKM Salim Osman for allegedly making statements criticising religion.

Muslims have better rights than even Hindus in India.
They can even divorce there wives with a f**king whatsapp message.
And in states like Kerala, i don't need to explain who has more rights

does it mean muslim women have less rights than hindu women?

There is no 'Hindu' country and as per law they do hence why you find people like Azim Premji gujarat's richest man and Kalam who was made President

Bangladesh seems to be suffering from radical elements who are targeting anyone who speaks out.

Hindus are in high places in bangladesh too(ministers, business owners, bankers)... if you have ever been to bd, you will realize its exactly like India except majority is muslim and minority is hindu. Its as much tolerant/liberal country as India is. Only difference is, their minorities are economically better off than our minorities(shame on us)

we got communal violence regularly in India, can you think of gujrat like violence in bd. The most recent one is Muzaffarnagar, 2013. Do read what happened to muslim women there, and imagine that happened to bd hindu women.

Well we all know how the Gujarat riots started, and the formation of groups like IM who went on a mass bombing campaign later.

We must all learn together in peace and refrain from any violence. I am glad the Gujarat agents caught the main culprit behind the train burning this week.
