Bangladeshi cleaner showered with gifts by Saudi Arabians after being ridiculed for looking at gold

.
@Al-Andalus does KSA pay any unemployment subsidy to its own citizens? Like Oman etc? If yes what's the amount?

Around $500-550 if my memory serves me right. For up to 1 year. This is lower than in many EU countries that are welfare states as well but you have to have the context in mind. The wages in KSA are lower by a significant margin in general but so are the living costs by a significant margin. Also there is no taxation. So you cannot compare the figures alone with each other.

Anyway mostly the youth in KSA are affected by this benefit due to them having the highest unemployment rate.

12% of KSA's population is currently unemployment. Vast majority being youth under the age of 30. Almost all locals work in the public sector (where the pay is higher and where the job security is bigger) while the private sector is dominated by expats.

KSA/GCC as we move away from oil (more diversification) needs to increase the private sector as a whole, the number of locals employed in the private sector and raise the salaries as a whole.

Some form of taxation should also be introduced and will be an necessity at one point in time (not that long from now) as the current status quo is not feasible on the long run nor normal anywhere in the world really.

Anyway I could talk a lot about the labour system in KSA, the need for reforms etc. but it's not the thread so I only covered it very briefly. I have to go.

Good to see humanity is still alive that guy was truly a retard who mocked a poor person but damn the reaction to that was just awesome. :-)

A generous and noble gesture. At least some benefit out of social media these days. Surely there salaries are not much but they are working in different places in one time and definitely earn enough monthly to have sustained this long in KSA. Also the cleaning contracts are given to companies based on tenders and the wages are set by these companies not the KSA government. There surely isn't any intervention by the govt but these minimum wage laws can also be a deterrent to foreign investment. People work there because they want to and they also work more than one job especially in KSA which is a bit lenient compared to other GCC countries where there are laws against it.

.
Not surprised, they are most racist people i have encountered; they just kiss white feet. Between KSA and Kuwait - they are top most. It is unbelievable to see this in Tunisia as well- just bad attitude overall despite being part of the african continent, they have a problem associating them selves with the continent just like Egypt as well.

Especially those that donated money and presents to that street cleaner.

Anyway it did not take long for your obsession to show itself after your ban, Mr. African/Indian or whatever you are.

Touching story and Great reaction from Saudis.
Humanity restored!!

Respect!

200 dollars a month is a very small amount. Riskshaw pullers in Bangladesh earn more than that.
This is not about only salary, they also get free food , free accommodation and bonuses as well. Situation is not worse as we think . One of the reason some people Continue to prefer work there .

Because North Africa is significantly better then any other part of Africa. We are not the same people and we never will be. Algerians,Tunisians,Moroccans,Egyptians,Libyans all share genetic and religious roots. All of those countries are much more better to live in then your average african nations. We do not identify as African despite being apart of Africa. We are not the same people nor do we wish to share your african identity. We are our own people much more closer to the middle east.

Stop trying to reel us north africans in with you bunch. You do not get to claim any of our achievements or people or culture. That is ours and ours alone.

.
I would suggest to the man who started this by tweeting "This man only deserve to look at rubbish"...please go and have a complete psychological done on you, trust me you need it badly.

If that guy is not an Indian, which I suspect that he is, he is one of those incredibly annoying Pan-Africans whose mottos in life are "Arabs and other Semites were originally Black millions of years ago", "every civilization in the Arab world was founded by Blacks", "Prophet Muhammad (saws) was Black" etc. I am sure that you have come across those on various forums, Youtube, social media etc.

I have absolutely nothing against Black people, love our Afro-Arab bunch, but he ticks all the boxes. Explains his obsession about Arabs which is kinda strange as most Black Muslim Africans love Arabs and many of their native regions have had close ancient ties to the Arab world and interactions with Arabs since before the Islamic era and especially during it. The Swahili coast (itself an Arabic word), the Sahel (another Arabic word) region, Horn of Africa, West Africa etc. to name a few regions.

KSA/GCC/Arabia/The Arab Near East (95% of the Fertile Crescent) might be a part of Asia but we have 1000 times more in common with our brothers and sisters in neighboring North Africa than we have with all other parts of Asia expect the immediate nearby areas that we share a lot in common with but not as much as North Africa for obvious reasons.

Similar to how Southern Spain shares more in common with neighboring Morocco (IMO) than say Finland on the vast majority of fronts.

Anyway all this talk about Africa made me think about this:

You will find a lot of dumb teenagers on social media nowadays. Hopefully the reaction taught him a lesson. He was outnumbered 6000:1. Racism in GCC is not based on skin color but more about your social hierarchy/job etc. Looking at racism from a Western point of view and applying it on the Arab arena is very wrong. When Arabs used to have slaves (which again cannot be compared to slavery in European colonies as slaves in the Muslim world had vastly more rights) they had slaves of all skin colors and origins. Blacks were not better or worse than say the Slavic slaves. We are talking about times 1 millennia + ago. Just so you understand. Whatever influences there have been on this front that show otherwise have come from the West mainly. It does not excuse such behavior but the same unfortunate behavior is applied among Saudi Arabian natives and among other Arabs. Talking about a minority here and a dwindling one by each year.
