A severe cold wave with dense fog is sweeping through all over the country especially through Srimangal, Syedpur and Kustia. According to the Meteorological Department the temperature is recorded as 2 to 5 degree Celsius less than the normal average temperature. Children and the elderly is major victim of cold related disease. For the biting cold a large number of people had died by last three days. More people are getting affected of various diseases for severe cold every day. Dense fog kept ferry services halted for about 12 hours on Paturia-Daulatdia and Mawa-Kewrakandi routes across the river Padma until Saturday morning. The ferries were suspended around 10:30pm on Friday, but resumed at 10:30am on Saturday when the fog cleared.

At least seven people have died of cold-related diseases in Kurigram in the last 48 hours, local public representatives have said. On Saturday, the entire district was blanketed with dense until 1pm, disrupting normal life and adding to the woes of the poor people. Many were seen gathering around fire to warm up themselves.Meanwhile, cold-related diseases have broken out in nine upazilas of the district. Dr. Nazrul Islam of Kurigram Sadar Hospital said 10 children were getting admitted to hospital on average every day with diseases like diarrhoea, and pneumonia.

Today we have hell storm and rain in greater sylhet region. That means we are having snow syndrom there..

Lowest temperature this year has been recorded as 4.6*celcius in Jessore. Just unbelievable! I have my personal experience of cold winter in Syedpur in the north when I was a schoolboy, though I do not know what used to be the temperature there. People in Dhaka are also shivering with cold this year. We do not have a home heating system anywhere in BD. So, people do not have a way to keep warm.

yesterday at night temperature drops to 6 c in karachi ...... :(

i want Hot Temperatures Back :agree:

Its cold everywhere. Seems like an ice age is dawning upon us, wonder where is Al Gore ?

:DAl Gore's busy fighting the Manbearpig.

I WISH it was 4 degrees Celsius where I am (Ottawa). Right now it is -14 degrees and I'm looking at about -23 degrees tonight. So when YOU feel cold, remember me! :D

Still we are seeing heavy snow and cold in the world. I used to think due to Global warming there would be a decrease/upward curve in temperature falling in year to year in winter, and then after a certain time there would be no winter in BD. I mean I used to think that since day by day the CO2 and CO (heat retaining gases) are increasing in the atmosphere so after a certain time there would be no winter/always summer.

Like the lowest temp in winter in Dhaka:

Year temp-degree
2000 3
2001 4
2002 5
2010 10
2030 20
2050 No Winter

But still we see heavy cold in winter, does it mean Global Worming is still no problem or Global Warming are recovered in winter every year?

Thats no logical reason for global warming not being real. Matter of fact, these extreme cold temperatures can indicate that global warming is real. I'm not an expert, therefore, don't take my words for sure, but I think the hotter the temperature, the more ice melts and more it evaporates.
Global warming is real. No one can deny that, but what the question is? are human being causing it or not?

People you call 4-5 celcius cold?
I only call it cold when it start to get below -5
