Bangladesh Shipbuilders back to life with Tk.5,000cr orders

AKIJ Noble, AKIJ Noor and AKIJ Globe are part of AKIJ Shipping's large fleet several dozens large. They all displace around 55,000 DWT. Bangladesh govt. should ensure that the replacements for these vessels - are built in Bangladeshi yards.

I have written the types and number of ships to be built in the BD dockyards as shown below for people to understand more clearly:

1) 1 (one) 70-meter cruise ship,
2) 2 tugboats for Payra Port,
3) 4 (four) 24-inch dredgers for the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA),
4) 5 (five) 60-meter patrol craft, three landing craft tanks for the Navy,
5) 3 diving vessels,
6) 1 modern floating crane with a 70-tonne capacity for the Coast Guard,
7) 2 diving boats for the Coast Guard,
8) 2 ferries, and
8) 1 survey boat.

I feel great to know the ships include vessels also for the Navy and Coast Guard.

What Bengal thinks today, the two countries in its west think that tomorrow.

Bhai this is good to know. However India builds destroyers for her own Navy (even aircraft carriers) and Pakistan's PN has built ultramodern frigates in Karachi Shipyard. We need to up our game quite a bit because our per capita GDP is now higher than both large South Asian countries.

If Hasina stopped the Chori for a few years and concentrated on Forces Goal 2030 then there would be jobs numbering in the hundreds of thousands.

Bangladesh merchant marine fleet is rather small and ranked 36 on the global ranking scale. Majority manufactured overseas probably. This needs to change.

We better do not emphasize GDP. It goes down with the value of Taka going down.

Our technology base is quite weaker than both Pakistan and India. Especially, India can build engines and mechanical components. The quality is low, but India can do it.
