The government will study the matter before taking it up with India, Foreign Minister Abdul Momen said

Bangladesh has outright rejected Indian Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on the condition of religious minorities in the country.

The Indian minister, during a debate on their controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill at the Lok Sobha on Monday night, said Hindus, a religious minority in Bangladesh, had “found it impossible” to undertake their religious activities in the country.

Speaking to Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday night, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said: “What they are saying in regards to torture on Hindus is unwarranted as well as untrue.

“There are a very few countries in the world where communal harmony is as good as in Bangladesh. We have no minorities. We are all equal. If he [Amit Shah] stayed in Bangladesh for a few months, he would see the exemplary communal harmony in our country,” he added.

“They have many problems within their country. Let them fight among themselves. That does not bother us. As a friendly country, we hope that India will not do something that affects our friendly relationship,” the foreign minister further said.

“This matter has just come to our attention. We will study it minutely, and afterwards we will take this matter up with them,” Momen added.

In Bangladesh Hindus and Muslims live together in Harmony, even recent immigrants like Biharis have been integrated into society (we are creating a special town for older Bihari folks, see thread).

Rohingya have gotten a special island with organized housing and communal farming.

Meanwhile India divides its population along religious lines.

Go ask your Pakistani generals and politicians why it reduced to 13.5% upto liberation war. Now it’s 10.7% already mentioned yesterday and population increased to 17 million. What kind of logic is this?? In Bangladesh we don't lynch and kill people for eating beef (Gau Mata). Nor do we go to people's houses and ask them to recite the likes of "Bol Jai Shri Ram" or threaten to kill them otherwise.

This type of thing does not happen in Bangladesh, it only happens in India where law and order is absent and Hindu mobs run amuck without control, threatening minority livelihoods. India is a lawless hellhole...

Biharis in Bangladesh were awarded citizenship status long ago, though they never really integrated around 1971. Go see the thread on how we are building a Tk. 6000 crore housing complex for them.

Immigrant Bangladeshi Hindus in India (the land of milk and honey) have no such luck. In fact the Citizenship Bill in India is being opposed by multiple populations (Assam included).

Instead of 'Land of Milk and Honey' it should be called 'Land of the Kanjoos'. Land of the Half-Chapati-one-onion dinner.

Please read up on the founding fathers of the Muslims League (e.g. Suhrawardy, AK Fazlul Huq etc.). They were not slaughtering civilians, they looked for a political solution that (together with Jinnah's involvement) eventually got us Pakistan. And are you a non-Muslim yourself? As a Pakistani - you sure seem to over-champion Hindu causes a bit.

Why don't you give the example of Kashmiri Muslims who genocide and cleanse half a million Hindus from Kashmir. I can give a loads of example including rape burning alive Hindu girl by Muslims. Are you ready to recognize that Muslims are real culprit? The problem like you guys is that you kill and cleanse people in big numbers and call others bad. You quote isolated examples of crime. Rather you should talk about how Hindus in BD reduced to single digit from almost 1/3 of population and how Indian Muslims population rose by 6 fold in 7 decade.
