They raised arms against Bangladesh with covert co-operation from India. There were no exodus but 30,000 refugee who were repatriated honorably and peace was made. Bengalis were settled there to bring parity with the indigenous people so that they dont fall for Indian design in the future.

After land reform most hindus had to loose their property as they stole them from Muslims with collaboration with Brits. 80% of the land were under the control of 20% hindus in E. Bengal. There were no persecution but when people starts to sell same property to multiple people and were leaving en-mass then there were caos and excesses.
