Bangladesh pledges to extend every support to Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse has attended the inauguration ceremony of the 22nd conference of the heads of states of the Commonwealth nations yesterday. President conducted talks with the world leaders and their representatives at the conference and exhibition center in Perth.

Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in her talks with the president said that Bangladesh will provide every support to Sri Lanka to hold the Commonwealth Heads of States Summit in 2013 in Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh supports Sri Lanka

Bangladesh has pledged to support Sri Lanka to host the next Commonwealth leaders meeting in 2013 in Colombo.

The Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given this assurance to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa when the two leaders met Friday (28) at the ongoing 22nd Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meeting (CHOGM) 2011 in Perth Australia.

President Rajapaksa and the Bangladeshi Premier held bilateral talks following the inauguration ceremony of the CHOGM. The two leaders focused attention on enhancing the mutual relationship between the two countries.

Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Sri Lankan Minister of External Affairs, Prof G. L. Peiris and the Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Australia Thisara Samarasinghe were also present at the discussions.

Bangladesh and Srilanka have a good relation from the past. Both country need to set talks to make it strong and effective.
