Bangladesh overflows with Lhendup Dorjis

I have not yet completed reading the article. Nevertheless, I must say a traitor benefactor is not respected even by the beneficiaries. Mir zafar's fate was such. He was not respected by the English and is not respected by his countrymen in BD, India and Pakistan. Fate of this large united country was decided by that traitor for which we are still suffering.

H.M Ershad is also a traitor who has been already dumped by India once in 1991. Any one understands one simple thing that H.M Ershad's plotting against Ziaur Rahman indirectly through General Manjur was sponsored by India. An army general would not dare to kill a popular President without an outside support in the volatile and unsure days of 70s and 80s.

But, Ershad was only a stop-gap substitute beforer AL to come back strong. This happened in late 80s after a few years of SHW's coming back to BD from her Indian sanctuary with a new mission. Under her leadership AL regained popularity. But, how to install it to power without first deposing Ershad?

When the 1st Iraq war started India supported Iraq, but, Ershad supported Quwait. This made India unhappy. But, Ershad thought he can show more of his independence. He brought one or two sq. of jets from PAF. He maintained good relationship with the PA generals who were his colleagues, superiors or subordinates when he was with the PA.

All these irked India. so, India informed AL that it has conducted a secret poll inside BD and has found AL as the most popular party in the country. An election, if held, will bring AL to power. So, India instructed AL to join BNP movement to oust Ershad from power.

Ershad was dumped by India with a direct help from AL. Ershad now is tied permanently with the AL. Ershad will not betray AL because of his fear that a BNP govt may try him in the Court for the conspiracy to kill President Zia and also Gen. Manjur. So, by a series of zigzagging through political chess board Ershad is still trying to save his neck from the rope of a hangman.

@eastwatch: I respect you for your post that has substance....One things that always comes to my mind...Is it really Indian influence exists in political spectrum of BD to the extent that you explained in your posts????...If yes....then i am just wondering about if Sri Lanka being such a small nation than you does not complain about indian influence in its political spectrum, rather BD complains so much??? Is it not weird? Indian GOV is very famous for its inefficiency and corruption??? How come India and its spy agency has so efficiently executing the plan to gain much of influence on AL and the party on Ershad as you have explained above???

In this situation is it the RAW efficiency to be appreciated or corrupt attitude of political party of BD should be condemned or I should think that it is an excuse of BD media to involve Indian influence in every small issue in its political spectrum?

Srilanka maybe smaller but it is an island, that geography offers certain level of protection that can not be underestimated.

Problem with Bangladesh is its tortured history. Pakistan was the fruition of the battles that originated and organised in Bengal. terrortories were sacrificed in the east leaving huge amounts of Muslims in the wrong side of the border for a bigger west Pakistan. This was accepted for the greater good. Subsequently Bangladesh had to be because of the unequities of the confedaration. Ultimately we separated from Pakistan with Indians assistance.

The trauma of the creation of Pakistan followed by second trauma of Bangladesh looms large in our psyche. Since 71 we have seen successive leaders killed, we have seen political upheavals and military coups one after another. It is easier to blame external parties for our misfortune.

I am completely anti-India in terms of its pretentions of hedgemony.... But not against it's people. I can not blame India for its actions the blame lies squarely on BD politicians who have failed to give appropriate leadership and foster democracy. The blame lies with BD intelligentsia who somehow is unable to be imaginative and independent. The chip of BD shoulder is massive. It will go away as soon as this first generation of leaders depart the scene.

The local state police also favored them though Muslim Leaque was in power. Finally once the British-Indian Army came from other Provinces it came under control.

Soon they instigated a riot between Bihares and Bengales and as a result a bulk portion of Bihares were killed side by side many Bengali pro-Pakistani politician/intellectuals were killed. Once liberation movement started many many freedom fighters remained silent by seeing the activities of Indian high command. Many a time even General Osmani tried to resign. It was during this time a plan was made to stage a military coup after liberation which finally held on 15 August 1975. The whole struggle movement for Bangladesh became farce. A major portion of freedom fighters were in favor of surrendering to the Pakistani Forces. Once India realize this thing they at once made a friendship and defense pact with USSR for 25 years and decided to attack the then East Pakistan.

The riots which took place in British rule and the British soldiers came after the killings so that sub continent can be divided based on religion and British can exploit these differences when the British Empire is strong. The guys who want a separate land for Muslims in Indian Sub continent can use these figures and can keep that hatred alive for generations to come. It is not systematic way of killings they are riots for which both communities must be responsible not Hindus alone. What about Muslims Killing and looting non muslims particularly that belonged to Sikh community in west pakistan??

Between BD and Sikkim or even Bhutan, the ingredients are vastly different. Islam gives us inner strength and ties us with the Ummah in an unbreakable bond. That is the reason why our faith and Islamic heritage is constantly under attack.
