Bangladesh Naval Ship Gomati arrives at the Port of Colombo

Bangladesh Naval Ship Gomati arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on 23rd February 2013. The ship which is on her way to Karachchi to participate in the multi-national exercise AMAN 2013 was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with Naval traditions on arrival.
Ships Commanding Officer, Commander M. Moinul Hassan (ND), pcs called on Deputy Commander Western Naval Area, Commodore Nimal Sarathsena at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo. They held cordial discussions and exchange mementos as a gesture of goodwill.
Gomati is an OPV belonging to Bangladesh Navy is 59.5 meters in length and has a displacement of 1,253 tons. It has a complement of 32 officers and 68 sailors onboard. The ship will stay in Sri Lanka until 26th February and the ships crew will participate in a special programme organized by the Sri Lanka Navy to enhance the mutual relationship during their stay in Sri Lanka.
