Bangladesh mulls importing train coaches from ICF

@bluesky bhai train technology may be high-tech for India, but for the rest of the world they don't usually call it high-tech.

But I get what you are saying...
The steam locomotive started its journey in England in 1804. India can build locomotives, coal, diesel, or electric. But, our fast-developing BD just cannot do that simple and old thing.

And I do not see any initiatives being taken by the govt as the year 2022 passing by so as the private companies come forward to build locomotives, train coaches, railway lines, signaling equipment, or other accessories.

By the way, to manufacture rail lines for uses in a curve is quite tricky. Simply speaking, the outer diameter/ length of the railroad in a curve is a little larger than the inner length. So, without doing proper calculations, the train may derail.

Hasina Bibi will send spaceships to Mars but cannot just plan manufacturing plants for the railway and is wasting hundreds of millions of dollars to import these items.

Yet, someone says she is an unparalleled genius. I hope, Bris Johnson from England does not phone her to fix his country's economy.

Bangladesh mulls importing train coaches from ICF

A team of officials from Bangladesh Railways would soon visit ICF to further the process of export of coaches from ICF.
by Press Trust of IndiaJune 2, 2022

Chennai: Bangladesh Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan on Thursday visited the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) here and said his country would explore the possibility of importing train coaches from the facility.

Sujan, accompanied by Bangladesh Railways Additional Director General (Operations) Sardar Shahadat Ali, on a brief visit, inspected the special coaches made by ICF, including the Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) Vistadome coaches, LHB AC tier II and III coaches among others.

During his interaction with ICF General Manager A K Agarwal, the Bangladeshi minister said Bangladesh has taken up the project of converting its metre gauge tracks to broad gauge and the LHB coaches from ICF would be of great help in modernising Bangladesh Railways.

He said Bangladesh Railways would explore the possibility of importing train sets for mass commutation such as DEMU (Diesel Electric Multiple Unit) similar to the ones exported to Sri Lanka and Nepal by ICF recently, a press release said.

A team of officials from Bangladesh Railways would soon visit ICF to further the process of export of coaches from ICF, the release said.

Sujan said the ICF played a vital role in the development of railways in Bangladesh and the ties between the railways of two countries has a ‘long history’.

He recalled the sacrifices of the Indian soldiers in getting freedom for Bangladesh and the neighbouring country would maintain the relationship forever.

The Minister was also impressed by the Vande Bharat coaches and other coaches manufactured by the ICF, the release said.

Lmao.

That's why bd need to learn how to use brain instead keep spending 80 hours per week on sweatshops for shit underwears.

Country of 170 million...7 th largest in the world need to import train coaches.

Whatever we say, our great talents @UKBengali and @Black_cats genuinely think that BD is a fast developing country with the imports of low-tech products from India and China.

It seems, the GoB listens to brats like them. GoB has not at any time encouraged our rich companies/ families to build factories that produce railway machines and equipment.

But, the two brats above claim the BD economy to grow to $1 trillion by 2030. But, they do not say by what means when there are no investments in the manufacturing.

Has any country ever developed by stitching only shirts and ladies' underwear?

BD will remain a lame-duck country for quite a few decades until educated technocrats take over the governance.

How many time you need to blabbering same thing and I need to respond. Definitely industrialization is needed but from business point of view it doesn’t make economical sense to set up a rail coach factory just to meet limited requirement of Bangladesh railway, at least for now. If there are really such need it can be done later.

Bangladesh is focusing on electronics, light and medium industrial manufacturing at the moment. Automobile industry is getting momentum and in recent future most automobiles will be manufactured in Bangladesh, not just assembling.

How long BAL brats like you will be blabbering about the BAL govt's successful import ventures? Why do not have you the brain to understand that your BAL govt is ruining the future of the country by borrowing sweet money from many countries?

Yet, you keep on parroting a great BD in 2030!! You guys are a joke. Better read the economic development of other countries including China which started its journey during your time.

China started with textiles like most other countries but ventured into manufacturing many decades ago. Even India is capable to produce and export mechanical goods to BD and you guys celebrate. How shameful it is!!

If you do not like to hear what I repeat, please ask your BAL party to do what I suggest. Tell me where in my posts I have given the wrong suggestion?

You have not yet answered my post on the Teesta Beautification Project the brainchild of that feeble-minded stupid Hasina Bibi. Was I wrong in my points? It will be another water project without getting water in winter.

Talk to Hasina if you are a patriot. Bloody enemy of the country!!!

Teesta barrage project was proposed by China not Awami league after doing feasibility study with their own fund. Awami league has many faults but don’t make comments which are not accurate.

Are you saying such a thing that a sovereign country's infrastructure is proposed by another country? Even so, it is the duty of the BD govt to re-propose and re-plan its own project.

The problem is BD has no engineering planners in the Planning Deptt. who can suggest what I proposed. And foreign western consulting companies do not suggest anything because it is out of their scope. They follow whatever wrong thing a poor country's govt decides.

This is the reason that the present Teesta Barrage has been built in the wrong location. You would agree with my viewpoint if you have some knowledge of river engineering.

Even then, I ask you why there are problems with getting water for irrigation even though BD has built a barrage? It is because it was built 90 km too upstream instead of at the mouth of Teesta before falling to Jamuna.

So, I ask you guys to talk to your Party idiots including Hasina Bibi.

These are the objectives of the teesta project!

It has plan to store water but even beside that it has various objectives. One of the main one is to reduce the damage of flood which billions of dollar loss each year. Beside with land reclamation on both side of the river it will increase food production and create industries which in turn will increase employment.

If there are more modification is required on the design I am quite sure it will be done. It’s still at the planning stage and only feasibility study is done so far.

Bhai let's discuss what this thread is for, rail-coaches...

I would respectfully disagree. Countries with far less population than ours and a lot less rail trackage than ours build rail coaches. For example NZ and some small EU countries make their own coaches.

You have to start somewhere - there is absolutely no excuse.

Pahartali and Saidpur shops manufactured coaches in serial batch fashion even during Pakistan times. It is these haramkhor Rail Ministers we have that are taking bribes from Indian companies and dilly-dallying on the BMREs of Pahartali and Saidpur shops. Saidpur is STILL CAPABLE of manufacturing and at least assembling coaches, with some of their hundred year old equipment.

Making coaches is almost no different than making large buses, which is already made at very high quality locally.\

Countries like Pakistan make coaches, as does India. What is stopping us??

AGAIN - THERE IS ABSO-F*CKING-LUTELY NO CONCEIVABLE EXCUSE.

ESPECIALLY NOW- WHEN DEMAND FOR METER GAUGE AND BROAD GAUGE COACHES HAVE EXCEEDED ABOUT THREE HUNDRED NEW UNITS PER YEAR.

THIS IS THE ONLY CHEAP WAY LOWER MIDDLE AND MIDDLE CLASSES CAN TRAVEL EN MASSE.

AND WE WILL NEED MASSIVE NUMBERS OF NEW BROAD GAUGE COACHES AS WE STOP RUNNING METER GAUGE LOCOS AND ROLLING STOCK...

These haramkhor Indian-shill ministers won't get bribes if we make things within the country.

So they want to avoid local manufacture at any cost.

.

Please read the link above. There was a talk of manufacturing coaches in the Saidpur Railway workshop in 2019. But, as far as I understand, nothing has so far been implemented. Anyway, this is what we are, our people are.

BR is importing all these mechanical products as usual and our great thinker @UKBengali thinks how great it is and how greatly BD is developing!!!

By the way, I have first-hand knowledge of the Saidpur workshop. My father was posted there for four years and I was a student at Saidpur High School for four years.

No way Saidpur (it is not spelled as Syedpur, I don't know how it is now) can manufacture the components that you can see below. The most important parts are:
  • 1.1 Bogie frame.
  • 1.2 Bogie bolster.
  • 1.3 Center pivot pin.
  • 1.4 Wheelset assembly.
  • 1.5 Roller bearing assembly.
  • 1.6 Brake beam assembly.
  • 1.7 Brake head.
  • 1.8 Brake blocks.
Saidpur cannot build any of these parts. It usually repairs some non-mechanical body parts. If you blame the rail minister, you have to blame all those who were appointed since 1947.

I cannot blame them. Many have never ridden a train in their entire life. Yet, they are railway ministers who just do clerical jobs in the ministry.

Manufacturing a single coach or a locomotive will give jobs to 100 people in a factory for one year. Do you think these are toys and are manufactured by plastic molding machines?

Why do not you ask Hasina to privatize the railway segment-wise? These companies will build factories to produce their own cars and engines as needed. Govt gets tax money from them.

You guys love to put the cart before the horse and the result is the coming economic collapse.

These are the objectives of the teesta project!
Whatever you print here in gold letters has no meaning unless Teesta can supply water to irrigate the fields in winter.

And the present Beautification Project is not going to supply water though It will stop bank soil erosion/ scourage.

NCRTC is using several state-of-the-art systems for the first time in India for the upcoming operation of the RRTS trains. RRTS will become the world's first network using hybrid Level 3 technology of the European Train Control System over LTE network, which will be implemented in a phased manner. In the first phase, ETCS Level 2 will be implemented
Vande Bharat Express is India’s first indigenous semi high speed train. The Integral Coach Factory in Chennai is scaling up its capacity and could manufacture as many as seven to eight Vande Bharat trains every month by this December. The eventual target is to escalate production further to take it up to 10 such trains every month

Your post was reported as thread hijacking post not relevant to subject being discussed. Please delete it before the mods do. We are not discussing importing Vande Bharat Express showcase project rail-set. Take this discussion to the India section.

If it is not Bande Bharat, it is then Bande Korea, Bande America, Bande Indonesia, or Bande Japan. And it has never happened in a way that we can shout Bande Bangladesh.

You have to understand that BD is two centuries behind even India when it is mechanical goods.

Indian Shipbuilding just lost LPD tender in Philippine. @Bilal9. Indonesia PT PAL gets the order according to Max Defense Philippine

It is repeat order from previous 2 ships which is also made by PT PAL Indonesia

In Indian Forum I see many Indians talking bulshit about Indonesia in our KFX/IFX program. They dont want to call the program as joint venture of Korea and Indonesia despite Korea said so.

Even they just said Indonesia is just assembling the plane LOL. Do they know that even current KFX/IFX prototypes has Indonesian made part on it ??? Just see on my KFX/IFX thread to see that fact, there I bring document from Indonesian Aerospace showing design work for tandem version of KFX/IFX done in Bandung, Indonesia ( after all design engineers (116 engineers) go back to Indonesia after the design is completed in September 2019) and parts manufactuing for several KFX/IFX prototype done in Bandung in 2020 ( I show a page in PTDI document about what they do in specific year of 2020).

Here prove to make people understand Indians in Indian Defense Forum are not having good knowledge and talk use emotion and hate instead

--------------------------------------------------------------

I will bring what happened during first phase of development that started in 2011

KFX / IFX program continued , Government Asked to Immediately Selecting Design

Korea was once considered Indonesia engineer do not understand about the design of a jet fighter. But the notion was quickly turned , when the Indonesian team describes the design and the various inputs. The Indonesian side also the one who finally managed to convince that the aircraft take-off weight of 50,000 pounds must .

Confirmation of the Parliament of South Korea on the resumption of the program KFX / IFX team warmly welcomed designers from Indonesia. They include asking both governments immediately call the engineers involved in preparing work that has been long overdue. They also want the governments of both countries to make sure one of the two designs that have been produced in the Technology Development phase for cultivation in the next phase .

"Program KFX / IFX is a multi - program years , costly, and involve various sectors and foreign partners. For that there must be a definite declaration on it goes. For Indonesia it is important to determine the financing schemes and their human resources planning, "said Dr Rais Zain, M. Eng , KFX / IFX Configuration Design Leader for Angkasa , in late January.

"In the near future Indonesia will also work on the N219 and R - 80. We do not have enough engineers to work three programs, especially KFX / IFX will take place until the 2020s. The government is expected to call home engineers who are now working abroad to come help the regeneration process. Outside there are approximately 200 people . If half of it can be returned to the country, it is enough to help, " added Rais who is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering ITB, Bandung.

As reported by the national media, the confirmation of the continuation of the program of making front - liner Korean - Indonesian fighter jets received by the Ministry of Defense on January 3, 2014. Notice is further announced Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro told reporters, Wednesday, January 8, 2014, on the sidelines of Rapim Kemenhan in Jakarta. Explanations related to exposure delivered weapon system procurement plans in the Strategic Plan II, 2015-2019.

The Indonesian government hopes the project of making the 4.5 generation fighter jet could be done because it would be a referral program to remove the dependence of the transfer of technology from other countries. Besides KFX / IFX, Indonesia is also pursuing a program of making submarines , warships, propellants , rockets, and tank size medium. For submarines, Indonesia is also cooperating with the same country.

Superior to the Su - 35 Program, KFX / IFX was stopped temporarily by Korea's new leader Park Geun - Hye end of 2012 after reviewing the state financially in the country. This prestigious project was worked on since the beginning of 2011, shortly after President Lee Myung - bak and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono confirmed the bilateral cooperation in the defense field in Jakarta. From the Technology Development Phase that has been completed, a team of scientists has completed a number of conical design that later became two.

The two designs is a model of the stealth fighter jet -winning twin-engine air superiority with horizontally - tails in the back, and the other one is with canards on the front. "Each has consequences different financing and partners. Thus , it must first be decided which one is selected. It is important that when followed, all parties are ready to do it , "said Rais Zain , whose day-to- day lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Aerospace Engineering,ITB, Bandung.

As stated Wamenhan Sjafrie, Korean parliament has prepared 20 million U.S. dollars (temporary , Indonesia : $ 5 million) to continue this program in 2015. At that time , the team will go to the Engineering Manufacturing Development Phase. In addition must have a high thrust engine with a power to be able to fight in the air, the aircraft must also have weapons stored in the internal weapons bay , the data - link capable of randomizing communications, advanced radar target voters, and anti - jamming device.

The prototype is expected to finish by the end of the Strategic Plan II . Even if there are things that need to be criticized , it is a matter of operation requirements are much more determined the Korean Air Force . This was inevitable because the Korean bear 80 percent of the funding, and the country actually have a real enemy. This program is targeted to spawn a jet fighter with performance equivalent or superior to the opponent fighter jets which are the Sukhoi Su - 35.

Prerequisites requirement dismissed the proposed counter designs by KAI ( Korean Aerospace Industrie) recently, which is intended to cut development costs. In the configuration ( see Space, December 2013 ), looks KFX type E is only one engine powered with weapons outside the radar sweep prone opponent.

Angkasa examine admiration of ADD ( Agency for Defense Development, Defence Research and Development Agency of Korea ) submitted to the Indonesian engineer team. Initially, the team assumes Korea really had no idea about the design of Indonesian fighter jets.

However, the assumption was turned when Indonesian engineers began to describe the design and the various inputs to the design of Korea. The Indonesian side also who ultimately ensure that the aircraft must have a takeoff weight of 50,000 pounds.(A.Darmawan/Angkasa magazine).

Indonesia delays payment for S. Korea's fighter development project

All News 11:49 October 07, 2019

"Despite such a delay in payment, the Indonesian side has continued to send its researchers to South Korea to take part in the development process," Rep. Kim Joong-ro of the minor opposition Bareunmirae Party said during a parliamentary audit into the administration, voicing concern about technology leaks.

As of July, 114 Indonesian engineers were sent to South Korea to work with Korea Aerospace Industries Co. (KAI), the country's sole aircraft manufacturer, to design and make a prototype of the fighter, according to a DAPA official
