What's new

Bangladesh is fourth largest inland freshwater fish producer: Fisheries minister

You guys are making me hungry!! :-)

Back in the day I remember when I visited Cox's Bazaar (it was less of a Bazaar than it is now :-)), we'd order grilled/fried silver pomfret fresh off of the day's catch (yes it was maybe an hour old) at the beach-side restaurants and marvel at its taste. Incomparable. And scarce little of any bones either.

They don't call this a butterfish for nothing. Frozen just doesn't have the same taste nowadays...

On a separate note - I don't know if you guys know that Bangladesh's very own common inland fish Lal Kholisa (Colisa Lalia is the scientific name) is a prized aquarium fish everywhere. It is also known as a dwarf Gourami.
