Who told you that bangladesh will attack india!!! Not only bangladesh but if any neighboring country want to attack india they will do it covertly to tear up india from within by utilizing all the differences in caste, religion, ethnicity, division in NE India etc. We know it very well that india for now has some numerical and technical advantage but also knows it how to deal with it by attacking the weakest part of India and that is creating division from within. Do not forget 20 million bangladeshi are not there in India for fun along with other muslims and people of NE india.

The relationship with Myanmar is not too good because Myanmar constructed a fence, like India, along the Bangladesh border. It is about 40 miles long.

The Myanmar Ambassador told the press that "it is not a defence structure, and it is to prevent narcotics and human trafficking". It appears that Bangaldesh has this problem with its neighbours where they undertake illegal activities which is not conducive to either of the neighbours and then there is this Rohingya issue.

The problems of the oil exploration is well known for recounting.

It is rather odd that inspite of having a common friend, there is animosity that is not being resolved, more so when plans are their to link China to Bangladesh through Myanmar. It is obvious that with hostility the project may fall through.

Hopefully, the problems will be ironed out.

there is no problem with Myanmar right now. UN will decide our territory.. Theres hearing going on... Myanmar is co operating with us. Ofcourse China played a role to bring them to table not bangladeshi frigates.

I will only say for your last part if the people of bangladesh want then it will happen otherwise it will not happen. Same case also with India... do not you think the caste and religion based discrimination is so high in india and others can make utilize of it in the future???? Have you seen what has happened in libya.. when there were report that gaddafi had support of around 65-70% of the poople... but how the west utilized the tiny minority to take over libya... n all these are without mentioning of NE India. Undoubtedly due to low development people of NE India are really fed up with the indian government.. if things continue like this way anything can happen... provided muslims and bengalis are about to be majority in assam if they are not already and they suffer huge discrimination on day to day life even by term such as illegal migrants... This is not true. I was born in Bihar (most backward state). NE is not so backward. Development work will happen. Connecting development with uprising is not true. It never happens. Also, GoI is doing lots of development work. Ask any Assamese what they want ? You will get reply. Ask any person from Bengal to Arunchal pradesh. The CM who died recently was anti-Chinese, if you are aware. Things will back-fire soon against BD if she tries anything adventurous. Gadaffi was dictator and India is democratic country. Things are different. North-east are as Indian like any person of Kerala. We have strong warrior of NE like Naga rifles, Assam Rifles, Assam regiment and Gorkha regiments who are fighting against enemy.

Bangladesh should concentrate on development, making good relations with all countries. That is the best solution for Bangladesh. If they will try any adventurous thing, they will regret later. Government changes but nationalist feeling among Indians remains same. Pakistan failed to take an inch of J&K in last 64 years when Kashmir valley has 99% Muslim population. Indeed, We took Siachin. China failed to take an inch of AP. Nathu La, Chola and Sikkim happened in 60's and later. Bangladesh should figure out.

Yes, I have read it. The appropriate term is 'strategic interests'. The term 'ally' has a different meaning. The article itself is incorrect. China exports many weapons to many poor third world countries. It is good business for them. Even Nigeria fly F-7s. Iraq used many Chinese weapons as well. Hell, even Myanmar use Chinese weapons.

Pakistan and China are allies and have many geopolitical interests at stake. We simply do not have that dept of relations with China.

But for now, it is an big source of military equipment mainly for reasons of limited funds. I wouldn't say that we have geopolitical interests with China.

Historically, India doesn't export as much military equipment as China does. Much of it are used among India itself. Also, licensed production of Russian designs are not for export. Examples, the T-90 and SU-30.

For Bangladesh, having a powerful military capable of matching against India is not the most important thing. It is in fact the least for now. The Cold War ended over 20 years ago. As far as the military is concerned, what is important is having a self sufficient force capable of maintaining the country's security.

For Bangladesh, the most important things to address are population control, climate change, political stability, cut down corruption and tax evasion and economic growth. The first four are falling on deaf ears. And certainly, the Chinese didn't give a hoot about them!

even if you want a strong powerful military in future.. the best way is to grow strong economically and raise the per capita gdp. this will lead to more revenues for govt.. if you try to go for a strong military know, then you will divert funds related to development.. u have best examples of countries in south asia which tried to do that.. thats y i said eco should be first priority
