That's a bit unnecessary & also ill-informed. India exports high precision engineering goods, software, petrochemicals, machinery, cars, bikes & one of the most important Pharma products. Therefore calling Indian exports sub-standard is just plain lack of knowledge.

Would you also call Indian hospitals & prowess in medicine sub-standard. I've personally met & talked to so many B'deshis (i can speak bengali & also understand the sylheti dialect)in so many of the hospitals across the length and breadth of India. When we treat your people we are also exporting goodwill.

I will not get into the loop of calling B'desh's exports sub-standard or below the value chain. You guys are doing good. More power to you.

Be happy with what you are exporting like apparels, garments, knitwear & strive to move up the chain with varied goods. Don't jump & chest-beat at the 1st sign of success.

You seem to be one of the good guys but you see there are some low IQ Indians who keep dumping their real life frustrations in this subforum by posting BS against Bangladesh. My reply was to them, please don't take them to heart.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't pharma export dry up if we get promoted from LDC bracket? And relocation of tanneries might also impact leather export, will it not?

You have not probably visited that Hazaribag tannery zone. It is unlivable, full of rotten hides and smell. The govt has quite a few years ago decided to relocate the zone to a place in Savar. It has built at least one water purification unit there. The industries must send the used water to this plant before it can be discharged off to the canals.

A quality industry is a pre-requirement for a quality product, and better late than never. The tannery industry is waiting to be relocated one by one. A country/industry has to invest money and when it is so, the return is much higher than the investment itself. I expect a good future for the leather industry after the relocation.

Dear Minister is hanging out with the Indians a little too much. Don't start counting your chickens before ........
