Bangladesh was elected to the UN Peacebuilding Commission for 2022. I am deeply honoured to be the first woman to assume the chair of PBC since its inception. We accept this honour from our unwavering commitment to the work and mandate of PBC.

We see this as an opportunity to further strengthen PBC’s advisory, bridging & convening roles; leveraging the positive role of peacekeepers to peace building & sustaining peace; strengthen national institutional capacity; scale up partnership with UNCTs, AFPs in support of nat’l peace building priorities; prioritize on #WPS and #YPS.

We will forge inclusive partnership & participation in making 2022 an impactful year for PBC. looks forward to working closely with all members and stakeholders, in partnership with Vice Chairs Egypt and Dominican Republic. #PBSO #peacekeeping
