Bangladesh connected with terrestrial cable

The matter is BD is not strategic enough to have a network point. One minute stop ur hate and think openly.
its being connected by using Indian territory. its the shortest way with less costs as infrastructure is already there. U cant have an entirely new cable to urself built to u. it will increase the costs umpeen times, that BD cannot have access to ITC at all.
Moreover BD is not our enemy. So what security problem is there to moniter BD?

well said..india already has links to multiple countries..so by connecting to india ur govt saved a lot by not starting afresh thereby saving ur taxes..ur govt did a good job..and u should be thankful to india for allowing this..every country has the right to stand on its own..but untill then there is no mistake in taking others help

Where do these indians come from, some other planet? This type of thinking seriously questions quality of education and information indians are accustomed to. Bangladesh already has independent landing point on SEA-ME-WE-4. And if Bangladesh pursue and pay we can have connection to many other such submarine cable extending through the region.

India connects to SEA-ME-WE-4 is not the issue. SEA-ME-WE-4 or any other submarine cable connects many countries through different landing points. These landing points are managed independently by each country and security and standard. But integrating through indian "terrestrial" network and then connecting to submarine cable is vastly different.

Bangladesh connects to --> SEA-ME-WE-4 through own independent landing point
India --> SEA-ME-WE-4 through own independent landing point

This was done to provide india telecom corridor and exposed entire Bangladesh telecom subject to indian surveillance and monitoring.

If any spy agency want they can easily tap submarine cable and this has been going on for decades... No one can stop it.

There is another misconception is that entire telecom network can be monitored by India is not necessarily fully true. All the local calls are handle by ICX and local operators through their towers. Only international calls can be monitored at best but if you dnt know already majority of the TDM calls are connected through TATA which is then transmitted by them to the destination and by some other companies.

I didnt mean to insult anyone. But what i state is correct. Lets take the position of India. From Indian tip, cable can be build to any country in the IOR. From India to Arabia, Africa, Indonesia, malaysia, Australia and BD.
Now tell me where can the cable travel from Bangladesh? Nowhere. U cant have an exclusive connection to ur country. For that u need lotta money and BD is not US to have exclusive or to have fear about its security.
Last time i saw, BD havent fought a war with anyone nor a war is looming.

Tapping submarine cable under the sea is quite an impossible task for country like india. And where data from many other countries are passing through it adds embedded protection because any such scheme will face challenge from other countries.

Now that Bangladesh telecom traffic is isolated and goes through indian land and through indian own network, india can monitor and run surveillance over Bangladesh entire telecom network. Bangladesh telecom traffic also got isolated from other countries and india would not face any opposition from any other countries.

One you don't know about telecom infrastructure in Bangladesh and two you are keep paddling to defend this colossal damage.
All these mobile companies and BTTB had setup an exchange for inter carrier call transfer and that was done through land connectivity. That is sure point of vulnerability to such surveillance.

Brother this is a private company. They can connect through whatever way they want and deem feasible to them. If you dont want to buy bandwidth from them then just stick BTCL and with our own cable system. Whats the big deal.

I am glad that it will break the monopoly of BTCL and will enjoy some good quality internet speed. We need bandwidth and international connectivity as 3G is coming soon.

I know . We helped them in everyway possible. But life is precious. And members of Mukhti bahini gave their lives for their land, which is no ordinary thing. They have the right to be proud.
At the same time, we have every much to be proud, as we trained them, gave shelter and refugee, our soldiers laid down their lives for Bangladeshis and its true we are responsible for the formation of their nations.
I wanted to say it in a polite manner, but that Idune idiot made me unpolite for a min.
