What type of protest r u expecting from general public for what exactly? Why should the people protest? Make it clear so that others understand where u r exactly coming from. BAL as a party is doing a great job in developing Bangladesh and our honourable prime minister sheikh hasina is leading from the front in that regard.

Why should people protest when the good deeds of AL largely outweigh their bad deeds.

Nobody wants to go back to the dark era of Bangladesh where khaleda along with his two criminal sons looted our country as their personal property. Is there any other alternative in Bangladesh?

Absolutely not. AL is by far the best political Perry in Bangladesh whose sole concern is fulfilling the dream of the father of our nation which is a free, fair and prosperous Bangladesh.

Absolutely not. AL is by far the best political Perry in Bangladesh whose sole concern is fulfilling the dream of the father of our nation which is a free, fair and prosperous Bangladesh.

Read my above two posts and u will find out exactly why I said what I said. I clarified in no uncertain terms that its not about standing up for BNP...its not about standing up for Khaleda Zia...its not about standing up for this professor...it's about standing up for principles.

In my second post I already made that point which u r demonstrating here. Ppl aren't speaking up and letting the government over step their boundaries bcuz of economical prosperity that has occurred. U echoed just that. Just so u know, it is the government's job to improve the economy, provide jobs, reduce poverty, etc. It doesn't mean that in return for all that, they should be allowed to take steps to solidify their hold on power and silence those who disagree by force. If u guys(the people of BD collectively) see nothing wrong with that and want to continue down that path then by all means carry on. I have no personal stake in it...whatever the outcome it is u guys who have to deal with it. I was just pointing out that this trend is not healthy.

If this was Pak in this case...let's say that Imran Khan and PTI did wonders for Pak economy and then started jailing political opponents and jailed anyone who spoke up against Imran Khan...in that case my position would be exactly the same against Imran Khan and PTI. When a democratic government starts over stepping its boundaries, starts to solidify power for itself and takes it away from the ppl, starts suppressing rights such as freedom of speech...that's a government heading away from being a democracy towards a tyrannical dictatorship(whether run by one person or a party). If ppl allow that to happen then the blame is solely on them.

If I'm not wrong, the leader of the main opposition party of PTI, aka Nawaz Sharif is currently rotting in jail, RIGHT? He got arrested and prosecuted just before the start of election? Is that wrong ?

I wonder, why didn't u protest against that my friend. If u r OK with the punishment of Nawaz Sharif why r u here suggesting others to protest against current rulling party of Bangladesh who threw crooks like Khaleda behind the bars for stealing money donated for children? In one hand u r perfectly fine with the punishment of corrupt Nawaz Sharif but u aren't OK with the same concept when AL is applying it to corrupt political leaders of BNP. I found it quite strange.

Secondly, we r always criticising AL. Dont think anybody ever got arrested for criticising the current political party. Just open any bangla TV channel especially the BNP sympathising ones and u will found out they have constantly been spouting rubbish against the ruling party without any fear. That's the ground reality my friend.

As for the topic of this thread where a teacher has been punished for defaming the father of our nation, well, I m personally fine with any criticism ( whether it's political figure or religious figure). But there is a law in Bangladesh that doesn't allow people to to defame the freedom fighters as well as the declarer of our liberation war.

This particular teacher was punished for breaking the law. Nothing else.

Nawaz Sharif was running into trouble(towards the end of his term) while he was in power and not Imran Khan. If Imran Khan had come to power and right before election he jailed all of his potential competitors like Zardari, Nawaz, Bilawal, etc. then that would look suspicious. What happened to Nawaz is no secret...the court case regarding the violation of article 62 and 63 has been discussed many times(that's a separate lengthy discussion). In any case...u can't compare those two situations bcuz they aren't at all the same.

Imran Khan had nothing to do with it. He didn't misuse his power to sideline political opposition as evident by the likes of Zardari and a bunch of other corrupt shit bags still walking free trying to stay relevant. Sure man...whatever helps u justify the actions of ur supreme leader Haseena. I have said what I think of it with enough clarity and I stand by it. Of course at the end of the day it is my opinion and u diehard supporters of AL can carry on with ur blind folds on...afterall its not me who will have to deal with the consequences
