The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has relaxed the ban on the export of hydroxychloroquine tablets used to treat patients suffering from pandemic coronary virus worldwide.
Director General of the Department of Drug Administration Brigadier General Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the information on Tuesday (April 21).
On April 19, Malaysia requested Bangladesh to lift the ban and export the drug. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said Malaysia has sought the drug from Bangladesh in need of treatment for coronary patients in their country.
It is known that several companies including Incepta, Square and Delta are making these drugs in Bangladesh. The country currently has sufficient stocks of these drugs, as well as new production has been increased.
