This is great. Balochistan needed its own anti terrorism unit after daily attacks and killings in Balochistan province, particularly Quetta. The thing to be seen now is whether this unit will be pro active or will it only react after things have gone wrong. Furthermore the people of Quetta are fed up with no information of arrests coming after daily killings.

My take on this is that the Jundullah, a terrorist sunni organization demanding the independence of Balochistan may be behind the killings of Shias. Jundullah has carried out several attacks in neighbouring Iran and has even organized jail breaks of its associates in Karachi jails. Jundullah I believe along with LEJ is responsible for the murders in Balochistan. I hope this new police force works to curb terrorist violence in Quetta.

there are two groups by the name of Jundullah, the one that originated in Karachi is now operating in Norther region, taking out non-muslims and works very closely along AQ & ttp.
then we have another one that emerged in Balochistan and fighting for the rights of Sunnis - that is the one supported by LeJ and mostly involved in killings of shias in Balochistan.

to be honest, now it doesn't even matter which unit or group they raise and who gives them training, what matters is, how they use these Assets and with what authority.
Police ATS commandos are well trained and cpable, but we all know how they are used - all of them are on close protection duties, even if they start using them tactically you will see the difference.

i was amazed to see two SPG personnel posted in a remote area on a security duty of a facility, all they did was sit on their bottoms in that hot desert - all that training and resources spent on those two personnel went down the drain

This SSF of Beluschistan are evry poor equipped, Ak-47 and self-made webbys for some Magazines, no Bullet Proof Jackets, no Helmets, In my Army time there was never a exercise without full gear ! We did call it "real time exercise"......I will never understand this "Pakistani" Mentality !
