RAWALPINDI: In a major breakthrough in fight against terrorism, two key militants among 12 affiliated with Baloch Republican Army (BRA) have surrendered to security forces in Balochistan’s Noshki area along with weapons and ammunition, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)

According to Pakistan Army’s media wing, the militants of banned terrorist outfit laid weapons as result of intelligence efforts. The key terrorists have been identified as Wali Khan and Karghani.

Meanwhile in Punjab, Rangers along with police and intelligence agencies conducted intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Faisalabad, Lahore, and Islamabad.

During the operations, 39 suspects including eight illegal Afghans were arrested in the last two days, added ISPR.

Illegal weapons and ammunition of different calibers were recovered from the suburbs of Faisalabad.

It is worth mentioning here that akey activist of notorious militant organization, Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Abdul Rasool alias Ustad along his group has surrendered to security forces last month.

The man was involved in terrorist activities in Pasni, Kulanch, Dasht and Mand areas of Balochistan.

The surrender took place as a result of writ of state established through effective intelligence and successful security operations, said the ISPR.

Twelve members of the Baloch Republican Army (BRA) surrendered to security forces in Balochistan on Wednesday, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to the statement, the militants relinquished their weapons and ammunition to security forces in Balochistan's Noshki area after "an intelligence effort", the army said.

The statement added that among the militants who surrendered were two "mid-tier" militants identified as Wali Khan, a resident of District Kohlu and Karghani, a resident of Sui.

Separately, 39 suspects, including eight Afghans, were apprehended in intelligence-based operations (IBO) conducted jointly by the Pakistan Rangers, Punjab Police and intelligence agencies in Lahore, Faisalabad and Islamabad, the ISPR statement said.

Illegal weapons and ammunition were seized from the suburbs of Faisalabad, the statement added. The IBOs lasted 48 hours.

The developments were attributed to the ongoing Opearation Raddul Fasaad.

The army had launched Operation Raddul Fasaad in February following a spate of terror attacks in the country, which claimed more than a hundred lives and left hundreds injured.

The operation seeks to eliminate the "residual/latent threat of terrorism", consolidating the gains made in other military operations, and further ensuring the security of Pakistan's borders.

TERRORISM IN PAKISTAN PAKISTAN

Over 1500 surrendered and a couple of days ago FC Baluchistan had graduation amongst which 700 were baluch youngsters. Every year we are getting graduates and every month surrenders are happening. Hidden and defeated is the insurgency.

Its over. Social media and 11 men marches are the only fate of the exiled.

Those 11 men won't even be Balochi in the first place. I saw pics of black people protesting most likely paid without knowing what the hell they're protesting about. And the Indians protesting think they're slick thinking they can trick people into believing they're Balochi lol. Anyone can see right through them.

Militancy and separatism is not the answer. The Baloch should fight for their rights and self-respect in a peaceful way and bring attention to their plight. This is the new trend which is much more effective. Terrorism never works against a powerful State apparatus. The Palestinians are just now beginning to realise this. Personally, I oppose all forms of ethnic nationalism and separatism, including even Palestinian nationalism.
