Baloch folk singers enthral audience

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Cultural Festival, organised by Lok Virsa in collaboration with Department of Culture, Government of Balochistan and Balochistan Small Industries Corporation is in full swing at Lok Virsa Complex, Shakarparian.

Balochi song and dance performances were the major attractions on Sunday during the four-day festival, which will conclude today (Monday).

Folk artists including Bashir Baloch, Baki Khyaal, Manzoor Bulehdi, Sal Muhammad Salonk, Muhammad Murad Parkoi, Nasrullah Mengal, Dil Murad Aadil, Taj Bulehdi, Bazeed and Aasim Gulistani enthralled the visitors to the festival.

Federal Secretary Ministry of Culture Moinul Islam Bokhari visited the Balochi Cultural Festival on Sunday and witnessed Balochi dance performances by Leva Chaap and Pashto Atan groups each comprising 10 to 15 dancers, attired in colourful traditional costumes.

Later, he attended a Balochi cultural evening at Lok Virsa open-air theatre, wherein known folk singers and musicians performed and received a great applause from the audience.

Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary Culture lauded efforts of Lok Virsa, Balochistan Cultural Department and others for organising such a beautiful festival.
