The average man has it hard in the US as well. Seems like this song is going viral. This is an age where real folk songs and not corporate country music are what people are hungry for.

Many similarities to the plight of the average person in Pakistan (although many obvious differences, except if the welfare he speaks about is subsidies for the elite of Pakistan, then it’s spot on).

Now, more then ever, is the time for young and old Pakistani to put out more folk songs, protest songs, poetry, ghazals, perhaps not to the level of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, but something from the heart.

The lyrics are below. I also put the Urdu translation. I wonder how it comes across in Urdu? (I listened to the translation, I noted some of it translated incorrectly and some into Hindi words)

I think he will be a one hit wonder and may end up being a major singer for Trump re-election. A person to watch. Literally a man from “FarmVille, Va” and a vet if I’m not mistaken. Already playing a live show and has got a record deal. Nearly 2 million views a day.


The live version sounds more upbeat. He opened with Psalm 37 12-20. Sounds motivational and has a more self-righteous tone, as best I could define it, but in this case, with all of what he sings was really resonate with many people and damning indictments of the political elite. He made it clear in a post his song wasn’t directed against the northerners, only against DC politicians.

It’s a fast moving brushfire in the blueglass of the country.

This is the power of a good folk song. Equally, This is a time Pakistan needs new folk songs to crystallize and rally the people in the cause of true democracy and freedom on this the day of the nation’s independence from the British but not “their” own fear of trusting the electorate.

And Fox News interviewed him and asked if his views aligned with the US right wing. He said he wasn’t republican nor democrat. His message was for all humanity not just the working class.

He is a true visualization to the world what a true non-partisan hardworking American from the rural parts of the country looks like, IMHO.
