AVIC and Harbin to Establish a High-end Bearing Industrial Base

Four enterprises under China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC) signed an agreement with Harbin Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Harbin on April 29th to establish AVIC Harbin Bearing Co., Ltd., taking a concrete step forward for the strategy of building a domestic high-end bearing industrial base between AVIC and the Harbin Municipal Government.
The new AVIC Harbin Bearing Co., Ltd. was set up between four enterprises under AVIC (AVIC Dong' an, AVIC Chengfa Technology, AVIC Liming and AVIC Xi'an Aero-Engineering Ltd.) and Harbin Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in the form of joint venture and cooperation. With a total investment of no less than RMB 1 billion, the new company covers an area of 0.35 million square meters.
　　
According to Li Ping, Deputy Chief Economist and Director of Capital Operation Department of AVIC, the newly founded AVIC Harbin Bearing Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in the design, R&D, production, maintenance, marketing and after-sales services of high precision bearings for aerospace, railways and large-scale wind power equipment, as well as R&D, production, sales and services of bearing derivatives.
Deputy General Manager of AVIC Tan Ruisong said the core competitiveness of enterprises should be enhanced by sharing complementary advantages and integrating resources. In meeting the needs to develop China's aerospace cause, internationally competitive and high-end enterprises for bearing R&D and production should be established, which will also spur the local economy.
　
With 0.4 million employees, AVIC, a large enterprise group in China, is the first domestic enterprise listed among the world top 500 aerospace manufacturing & military enterprises.
As a key machinery enterprise established during the "First Five-year Plan" period, Harbin Bearing Manufacturing Co., Ltd., one of the domestic leading enterprises in the bearing industry, has made significant contributions to China's aerospace cause by producing aero bearings.
