ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan, Magdy Amer on Wednesday said that Pakistani businessmen can enjoy access to American, European Union (EU) and African markets through Egypt.
Talking to a delegation of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), the Ambassador said that Egyptian agricultural products have also free access to EU, which is an opportunity for Pakistan's agricultural sector.
He said that access of Pakistani products to world markets would help both the countries to achieve common goal of shared prosperity adding that Pakistani businessmen need to look beyond west, gulf and central Asia. He said that many Pakistani groups have been enjoying free trade after setting up their industries in Egypt adding that any nominee by FPCCI will get visa for Egypt in 48 hours.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice President, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Iftikhar Ali Malik stressed the need for boosting exchange of trade, political and cultural delegations besides cooperating in engineering, telecom, tourism and SME sector. He said that lack of proper information and direct links were hurdles in boosting two-way trade and stressed for establishing permanent links between chambers of two countries.
Vice President FPCCI, Amer Atta Bajwa and Chairman FPCCI Capital Office Hameed Akhtar Chadda said that Islamic countries should have close economic cooperation. They said Egyptian entrepreneurs can use Pakistan's strategic location to enter Central Asian markets Chairman Media FPCCI Malik Sohail Hussian stressed for reciprocal tariff liberalization for industrial and agricultural goods that he said would eventually result in complete dismantling of customs duties and quotas.
