Maybe but they have been talking about a kinetic war against China. I doubt that will happen. And their first sub will not be commissioned until another 10 years. China will be far more powerful by then.

Of course they are talking of iron fist or in diplomacy speech of kinetic assault. War is not kindergarten. What do you expect? You must show strength otherwise war is to happen if the other side thinks they can win the war.
Certainly chinese have more resources more weapons. And they will have tomorrow. That’s the big headache we face today.
Same for us in Vietnam. Ccp will not hesitate a second to start a war against Vietnam if we show weakness.

We will wait and see. Japan, Germany, Italy had the same thought. They believed to their superior races.

Hmm... Is Japan now considering nuke subs as well..? After all, Japan will be the only Quad member without SSN's...
Well... seems like it now boils down on who becomes the next PM...

That being said.. this is becoming worrisome, if Japan gets one, SoKor will definitely try to get one as well... then other non-nuclear states will also want too.. I hope the Japanese public will have enough common sense not to follow this idea through...
