Agree that using a Hindu deity such as Ganesh to sell that particular product (meat, lamb) was not the right thing to do but I have no problem with caricaturing our gods if they're right alongside guys like Jesus, Thor and Aphrodite etc. I don't think it was mean spirited in that sense. Should've used Ghatotkach or something like that, a rakshas.

As for depriving Indians of guns, no country apart from the US expressly grants their citizens the right to bear arms, to protect against a tyrannical government no less. They had a freedom revolution when the English came for their firearms, a truly advanced society.

Hinduism is too old to be revived in the 3rd century way or whatever your ideas may be..

Our mythology is set to go down the way of Greek and Norse mythology, a people evolving beyond myth and legend, unlike the salafists..

Already said that it was not proper of them to feature ganesha in a meat/lamb ad, but am all for making casual fun of all these systems though..

If we view it from religious angle the AD is certainly in bad taste. But again they dint do it deliberately to insult some one.

I dont think we should make a big issue out of it. Educating them about our culture & customs would be great. If we make a mountain out of mole hill it will only breed unwanted resentment and spread hatred.
