Australia beat Pakistan in fourth ODI.

Australia clinched a six-run victory over Pakistan in the fourth game of the five-match ODI series at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Being sent in to bat again, Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch put on a 56-run partnership on the first wicket before the Australian skipper was back into the pavilion after scoring 39 runs. Khawaja went on to score 62 with the help of six boundaries.

Shaun Marsh, Peter Handscomb and Marcus Stoinis failed to make any significant contributions to the scoreboard.






However, Glenn Maxwell and Alex Carey took the attack to the Pakistani bowlers with their 134-run partnership, which helped the team post a defendable total of 277-7 in their 50 overs.

Maxwell was the star-performer for the Australians with his 98-run knock and he was supported by Carey who went on to score 55 for the side.

In their chase of 278-run target, Pakistan lost Shan Masood for a nought in the first over. However, debutante Abid Ali and Haris Sohail steadied the side with their 74-run partnership on the second wicket.

After Haris was dismissed for 25, Abid Ali and Mohammad Rizwan score a 144-run partnership on the third wicket and the Men in Green were closing in on their first wicket.

The situation turned dramatically when Abid Ali was dismissed for 112 off 119 deliveries which included nine boundaries. Umar Akmal, Saad Ali and skipper Imad Wasim could only manage to score in single figures. Pakistan’s hopes of salvaging the fixtures were dashed when Mohammad Rizwan was back into the pavilion for 104.

Australia went on to win the game by six runs and remain unbeaten in the series.

The Kangaroos have an unassailable lead of 4-0 in the five-match series. The dead rubber fifth ODI will be played on Sunday at the same venue.

Because we have a weak domestic structure, that is where young guys are to be picked up. With PSL running now, last few years have seen us bring in boys at young age.

Isn’t Harris Sohail, Fakhar Zaman, Imad Wasim, Sarfraz Ahmed around the same age as him. Abid looks much more experienced/refined then them all. If we can afford to have no-performers aged 30+, then we can definely have one potential rising new super-star aged 30.

You mistook me. My point is even if performs consistently, he might only 4-8 Years of cricket left in him. And thats a big might. We need players young so that when they are in their early thirties they are experienced enough to groom younger players, making the next generation of team. Takes Misbah's team:
That was good and experienced team BUT OLD and all retired around the same time span, as a result we are left with shit performing old timers who had no place in THAT team and new inexperienced blood. The result is what we are seeing now.
We need complete system overhaul NOW.
