Augusta Westland AW 139 - Six

. . . .
In addition to the number and types of the rotary wing aircrafts used by the Navy & Air force; PA Aviation uses Alouette-3, SA 315 Lama, SA330 Puma, Bell 205, Bell 214, and UH-1, Huey Cobra, Mil-8/Mil-17 and now Augusta AW-139.

Don’t you think that operating such a large variety of helos is cumbersome and very expensive in terms of spare parts inventory and skilled manpower to keep these machines airworthy?

Hope someday someone in the PA Army aviation will seriously consider streamlining the number and types of helos to optimize the limited financial resources of the country

and Bell 412EPs - this type (25 in service and 30 on order) will allow the PAA to retire the 205, 214 & UH-1s.(the UH-1s are almost retired)

for med-lift they will continue to use the PUMAs and Mi-17s. the Mi-8s are retired.

the Alouettes are SAR specific for all three arms.

and the cobras remain the only attack helo in the inventory. 19 of the original 20 AH-1S are in service along with delivery of 12 and then 8 AH-1Fs. 36 airframes (20+16) were delivered to be used as 'spares' inventory.
