BJP prods India to attack Pakistan

By Jawed Naqvi

NEW DELHI, Aug 12: India’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s government to “attack Pakistan and Bangladesh” to dismantle alleged terrorist camps.

“I demand that after taking the international community into confidence, India attack Pakistan to dismantle terrorist centres,” BJP President Rajnath Singh was quoted by Press Trust of India as telling reporters in the western port city of Panaji.

“Not only Pakistan but Bangladesh should also be attacked where terrorist centres are operating,” he added.

Refusing to name the ‘international community’ he had in mind, Mr Singh said international support should be garnered before such attacks.

On the contrary, former foreign minister Jaswant Singh, the BJP’s chief leader in the Rajya Sabha, had pointedly rejected the idea of ‘hot pursuit’ against Pakistan in response to the Mumbai tragedy.

The BJP president’s comments came as India stepped up security across the country ahead of Independence Day after intelligence inputs indicated terrorist plans to disrupt the celebrations.

What do you suppose our plan should be in case BJP usurps power in India?

With such sentiments at the highest level already drawn on the table, why should we hold the pretense of a peace process?

. .
What can be expected from BJP what can be expected from fanatics.

Had anyone of you noticed BJP has also mentioned attacking Bangladesh lol ahhhhhhh their dream to merge Bangladesh into India still a distance cry :)

“Not only Pakistan but Bangladesh should also be attacked where terrorist centres are operating,” he added.

By saying this what does he mean? its the same Bangladesh they had disintegrated from Pakistan by attacking us now they are talking about conquering her.

Wake up Bangladeshis

Jana,

I am a Bengali.

Culturally and language, we are one. There is quite a strong bond, if you ask me. And quite a few of us have Bangladeshi origin.

Do I want Bangladesh in India?

No.

Can't add any more of the poverty that signatures Bangladesh.

We have to emerge out of the third world image and we cannot have any millstone around our neck.

Let Bangladesh find her place in the sun!

Dawn is probing in the dusk! ;)

speaking same language and wearing same dress is something else while ruling that country with same culture or language is something different.

Spread by you and now dissowned by u :)

Salim, the demand to reabsorb Bangladesh is not a Bangali demand, its part of the Hindutva Akhand Bharat doctrine.

You as Bangalis might not like it due to the economic situation, but people who need their egos satisfied by recapturing land that was taken away would want it done anyway.

If you see the speeches BJP gives, its all about what the Muslims took away from us and we now have to take away from them.

This is disguisting and so unprofessional, and you can always expect such kind of remarks from an opposition party.

AsSalam o Alaikum,
This is a demented moron,s dream. If he is so stupid that he does not know the consequences of a war in this region, and he is a political force, then heaven help us all!!
Their are seventy billion reasons for a war not occuring in this region (namely the foreign investment in India). He may not see logic, but one thing that India understand very well is Lakshami. At the first sign of any aggression that money and investment will disappear overnight and India cannot afford to loose it. It will also set a precedant and nobody in their right mind will ever invest in this region( if it survives a war!!!) In any case even if India were to overwhelm Pakistan, what would it do next? It already finds it difficult to feed its own population, What would it do with a war ravaged, destored Pakistan and its hungry population!!!
All this talk has as much logic behind it as belching against the wind, and will only lead to mutual destruction.
WaSalam
Araz

I have not understood as to what exactly you are conveying and so I shall await the clarification!

If you are alluding to the Liberation War, then it is not the question of disowning or any such thing.

India did assist the Mukti Bahinis and having liberated them, immediately left.

Mrs Gandhi was a woman of great foresight and a great strategist. She left the country liberated so as to not shoulder the burden of poverty etc or being labelled as a "neo imperialist" or "occupation force". If Bush had merely studied Indira Gandhi, Iraq would have been a very different place or maybe because he is still there in Iraq, it has not done a Bangladesh on India!

Politics is sure a nasty and a crazy animal. Tails you lose, Heads you Lose.

Therefore, do you think Sparten is right - that's why you like the military? ;)

It must be understood that Bengalis of West Bengal are a part of India and they obviously do not think independent of the thinking of other Indians.

It may also interest you that Advani, one of the leading members of the BJP, praised Jinnah, who happens to be the Father and Creator of Pakistan. Further, the Indian electorate rejected the BJP in the national election. This is a clear indication that non secular politics won't gel with the Indian public, on whose votes, the govts are made.

Therefore, no matter how disappointing it may be for you, India rejects non secular politics.

The fact that Advani praised Jinnah and all the Rath yatras are proving damp squibs indicates that the BJP has realised which side of the bread is buttered.

This Akhand Bharat pizzazz must be a talking point with the chatterati of Pakistan's drawing rooms and gullies, but all this does not even turn a hair in India since it is bunkum and unmitigated hogwash. It is as great an idea as the Caliphate resurfacing and as ridiculous a concept in terms of the modern societal order of nation states and nationalism and sub nationalism.

You very conveniently forget the "news report" also mentioned another leading light of the BJP Jaswant Singh who has rejected the idea of "hot pursuits", which some combat terminology illiterate conveniently terms for sensational value (including the newspaper) as "attacking" Pakistan or Bangladesh.

What makes you feel that the Moslems have taken away a part of India? No one has taken anything from anyone. A part of the Indian population decided to form a separate country and the British granted them that. It is a reality and the clock cannot be turned back. That too, i.e. the clock of time, is a reality.

It is just that there are some people, like you, also in India, who tend to let their fantasies and fears take charge of their rational mind. Fortuantely, in India they are so insignificant that their raves and ranks hardly turns a ripple. I would like to believe the same is the case in Pakistan; but if I take you, as you take the raves and rants of insignificant political animals of India, as the Vox Populi, Vox Dei of Pakistan, then it sure would alarm!

We, in India, are more concerned with improving our lives than wanting to inherit poverty and squalor to pull us back a few centuries, when in fact, we are actually in the process of emerging from the same!

You possibly wallow in the idea of cohabiting with poverty and squalor and its possibly gives you a machocist orgasm, but unfortunately, we in India, will ask you to forgive us if we do not contribute to your strain of irrational pleasure.

I hope you had a great Independence Day.
