At the End: Who Won? US? or Afghanistan?

This is interesting debate. Americans are gonna leave soon. People have already started talking WHO WON.

Some say US, some say Afghanistan.....

I say - Taliban WON, US got TIRED while Afghanistan GOT BLOWN UP.

Who won? how would you define it? Talibans, yes but the situation is still fluid, they flushed foreign forces, but what awaits them in kabul remains to be seen.

US, its president don't even want to talk about it, because after successfully negotiating an exit, the "absolutely not" phrase is the start of the phase where US is no longer the superpower and others countries will start treating them like another state.

Pakistan, although it can claim victory of defeating a superpowers through proxies. But the cost has been heavy to say the least economically, socially and 20 priceless years.

The US would have been more focused on preventing the rise of China much sooner and could have invested in becoming more economically competitive through investment in infrastructure had it not been distracted by these post 9/11 wars. Trillions wasted that ought to have been spend on roads and bridges not bombs and bullets in futile wars.

This is the prelude to SOMETHING big on the world stage. The american withdrawal from afghanistan signals the beginning of the end of the old colonial order that has existed for the past 350 years. In the coming years and decades, we will see this play out.

I don’t know who won, but I do know that India lost, 3 billion $$$ and assets like cmdr gulbadan yadav later india. Clearly and openly lost.

Most war theaters are run by Americans, based on who is sponsoring it. In Afghanistan, the Americans tried to implement this to the Chinese as a means of security, but the Chinese learned to deal directly with the taliban by way of Pakistan.

American tried indian, but they are not adventurers like Pakistan and second there were no air bases offered to the United States, so it made no sense to stay there longer and crash like the Soviet Union.This is the only move that makes sense, otherwise Hamid Gul prophecy become true.

taliban won but price was broken families, blood and tears. This is the price you have to pay to win. Taliban has higher morale and are more determined to take on bigger projects in future if need to be.
At least Afghanistan is free country now.
