A good question, There are many Hazaras with different roots. Some Hazaras are Tataris, some Hazaras hail from Turkic tribes and even speak Turkic as opposed to Dari. Some are Mongolians who came with Ghengeis khan like me, some are descendents of the Kushan people. Some are even from Xingjan Turkic of China.

In general we identify ourselves as Mongols.
