At least one person was killed as an explosion occurred in Peshawar's Hayatabad area, *DawnNews reported on Friday.
According to initial reports the explosion occurred near Additional Inspector General Ashraf Noor's car.
Eye witnesses claim that the IG's car caught fire as a result of the explosion, which also caused injuries to several people in its vicinity.
The explosion was loud and security officials have been deployed to the area, DawnNews said.

He was born in April, 1963 and obtained a Master of Science in Agriculture before joining the Police Services of Pakistan after clearing superior services exam in 1989. The senior police officer was due to retire from his service in 2023.
