Assam Election Verdict - What does it mean for Bangladesh?

What is the party leaning of AIUDF (Right/Left)? It seems like it should have contested in an alliance with Congress. The Muslim votes are all divided into INC and AIUDF. Even one got BJP. In Assam Congress seems like one party surrounded by all Hyenas like AL in BD.

Congress was responsible for illegal Bangladeshi immigration into Assam : Badruddin Ajmal

perfume baron Badruddin Ajmal has said that Congress was responsible for illegal Bangladeshi immigration into Assam. “Congress is responsible for illegal immigration from Bangladesh. We also want sealing of borders. For last 11 years, we are saying that the border with Bangladesh should be sealed. All illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, who arrived after 1971, should be thrown out.” Said Ajmal while speaking to India TV.

Changing his tone after shocking defeat in recent assembly polls Ajmal pledged his support to identify and throughout illegal Bangladeshis ‘AIUDF shall extend its co-operation in identifying illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, though no citizen should be subjected to any atrocit’ he said.

“Take us into confidence. If any Bangladeshi arrives, he will hide into a Muslim’s house only. We’ll search every house and identify them but don’t commit atrocities over any citizen,” he said to India TV. Ajmal, however, is not in favour of fencing the borders with Bangladesh.

“We are against fencing. It involves bungling of Crores of Rupees. It’s of no use. It’s so easy to cross borders,” he added. He also questioned the passive role of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) in the matter of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.

“AGP came to power twice in the state. What did the party do?” Ajmal asked. AIUDF which had won 18 seats in 2011 Assembly elections has won just 13 seats this time out of 71 seats contested by its members. Badruddin Ajmal too lost his constituency Salmara South, which has elected Congress’s Wazed Ali Choudhury by a margin of 16,723 votes.

Assam has elected its first BJP government under Sarbananda Sonowal. The BJP led three-party alliance has bagged a total of 86 seats of which 60 belong to BJP, 14 to AGP and 12 to Bodoland Peoples Front.

The Congress which held power in the state for last 15 years has been wiped clean this time.

It may be noted that many tribunals had been set up in past by the government to identify illegal Bangladeshis but finally less than 1000 people were identified who didn’t have proper documents while BJP claims that there are millions of illegal Bangladeshi settlers living illegally in Assam.

When you're saying that, you're expressing your inherent loathing towards your own countrymen(Dalits are in India too).
That technically makes you an anti-national but here you're trying to portray yourself as a nationalist.(the irony)

If you hate a portion of your own country's population, why don't you demand a separate country for your own kind(the upper-cast people). Either you demand that or they demand that, it's the same thing and that's how India was partitioned once and that's the reason I think Hindu upper-cast fundamentalists are the main threat to India's integrity not some bearded radicalized Mullah, 'cause they have no chance if Indians are united.

No one knows what the f-ck a dalit is in BD. The term isn't used much, only people who know about it is us PDF'ers after seeing the word being tossed around. It's how we know about the ethnic make up of India or Pakistan, through PDF, with a whole lot of other things.

I mean if we're dalits, then the average Indian must be something worst.

They are the Methor/Chamar who are actually hindu migrant from India in Bangladesh.

.
Hope that these AIUDFs arent Jamaatis in disguise whom are biggest slut of both India and Pak but anti BD.

Chamar can be used as an insult or slur whereas Dalit is a social class in India. And exactly, if we have Dalits, they were not here before. We have adivashis, but I wouldn't consider them a Muslim ethnic group for the most part..

Surely this deserves a ban.

It's okay, the man in the middle will probably make him wet his pants anyway.

Badruddin Ajmal, a perfume-tycoon-turned politician, formed All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), a secular party adhering to democratic principles and protection of minority interests.....

Did anyone notice the irony there, or its just me??

And I stopped reading further..

Hello Ugly. See for yourself on mirror.

I think Assamese people are illiterate, otherwise how come they believe this bogus theory of illegal immigrant.

Assam shares the less amount of border with BD, it means least to BD among bordering Indian states. Assam has three kinds of Muslims. Barak valley Muslims are inseparable to Sylhet. Some Brahmaputra valley Muslims were migrants of century old but most of them will be geographical continuation to Rangpur region. And others in the upper Brahmaputra valley were convert from different tribes.

Surrounding BD states: West Bengal is ruled by Center Left Trinamul which was dominated by left power before. Tripura which is ruled by Leftists, Meghalaya and Mizoram is ruled by center left Congress. And Assam is predominantly ruled by center left Congress.

So in this region where does it fit center right BNP or right wing jamaat? Here is the cultural similarity of BD with these states.

Assam Election Results - What does it mean for Bangladesh?

Enam Ahmed Chaudhury

The results of the recently held Assembly Elections in Assam are of great significance to Bangladesh. Firstly, the BJP-led alliance has won with an agenda which is apparently directly detrimental to Bangladesh interests. Secondly, the same BJP is in power in Delhi and the centre's choice, Sarbananda Sonowal, who led BJP in the elections, is the Chief Minister - designate.

this is so wrong in so many levels. it is biased with a capital B.

First, its the BJP (right nationalist party) that has finally come around to sign the LBA with BD - not the left-center govts.
Second - the article starts off suggesting that somehow, Assam was to be part of Pakistan but was awarded to India in effect, because Assam was supposed to be part of Pakistan in 1947, in 2016, they should elect only left center govt and not a right nationalist party
third - the article clearly is demeaning the choice of the people. they WANT the right nationalist party. which is why that party has won election after election.

The question is, why is it that so many people want a right nationalist party in India? why has it an election slogan for the party to "keep illegal Bangladeshi's away"?

reported you.. please edit your post and dont pass racist comments, this applies to those who replied to you in kind.

I'm hoping that the kid is probably 14. Otherwise its a sad commentary.

Y'know - even a few decades back, we all belonged to the same big country, but we couldn't stay together because,

1. Morons like 'Guru' in all our little fiefdoms thought that wearing lungis rather than dhotis made you different,
2. Our scumbag leaders used this pretext to loot some 'faida' while we sat like idiots.

Even today - let's look at some stats (India shown but picture is the same in Pakistan and Bangladesh as well)...

6 shocking revelations from a recent survey on caste
By Devanik Saha -

November 30, 2014

The National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) conducted the second India Human Development Survey (IHDS-2) — the largest pan-Indian non-government household survey. The survey was carried out in 2011-12 for economic and social variables across multiple categories. The full results of the survey will be available next year, but some shocking data has come to light which shows that the worst of the caste system is still alive and kicking in India.

The answer is simple - BJP is appealing to the lowest common denominator voter and appealing to his/her base-est instincts. It's called fear-mongering. Look how far it has gotten Trump himself.....

This is why BJP wins votes. After winning however - nothing happens because even the BJP knows how practical (or not) these 'Muslim hatao' promises are. As always. Look at Modi's election promises. There are a lot of gullible people in India (in fact the whole subcontinent). Democracy does not work for uneducated Asian people....
