Sajjad Ganjzadeh Wins Iran’s 14th Gold Medal at Asian Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Karate practitioner Sajjad Ganjzadeh claimed one more gold medal for Iran at the 18th Asian Games on Saturday


The Iranian karate practitioner defeated Vietnamese Minh Phung Nguyen 5-2 in the final of the men's +84kg contest.

Iranian athletes have already won 14 gold medals in the Games.

Saeid Rajabi in +80kg and Mirhashem Hosseini in 63kg have won two gold medals in taekwondo.

Hassan Yazdani (86kg), Alireza Karimi (97kg) and Parviz Hadi (125kg) snatched three gold medals in wrestling freestyle.

Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers Mohammad Ali Geraei in 77kg and Hossein Nouri in 87kg also seized two gold medals.

Wushu practitioners Erfan Ahangarian in the -60kg and Mohsen Mohammadseifi in the -70kg won two gold medals.

Reza Alipour claimed a gold medal in the climbing and women’s kabaddi snatched Iran’s 11th gold medal.

Iranian women’s and men’s kabaddi teams snatches two gold medals.

Weightlifter Sohrab Moradi snatched gold medal in the men's 94kg class.
 
Iran’s Rozita Alipour Claims Silver at Karate

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian karate practitioner Rozita Alipour snatched a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games on Sunday.


She lost to her Chinese rival Xiaoyan Yin in the Women's -61kg Final Contest.

Choi Wan Yu from Hong Kong and Uzbekistan’s Barno Mirzaeva claimed bronze medal.

The 2018 Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Asian Games and also known as Jakarta Palembang 2018, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 18 August to 2 September in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

The athletes compete in 465 events across 40 sports and 67 disciplines.
 
Iran’s Khaksar Seizes Karate Silver at Asian Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian woman karate practitioner Taravat Khaksar claimed a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games on Sunday.


Khaksar lost to Taiwan’s Wen Tzu-yun 4-0 in the Women's -55kg Final Contest at the JCC Plenary Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The bronze medal went to Indonesian Cokorda Istri Agung Sanistyarani and Wong Soki from Macau.
 
Iran’s Weightlifter Hashemi Snatches Bronze: Asian Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian heavyweight weightlifter Ali Hashemi claimed a bronze medal in the 2018 Asian Games on Sunday.


Hashemi finished in third place in the the men's 105kg at the JIExpo Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.

He lifted 184kg in the snatch and hoisted 219kg in clean and jerk for a total of 403kg.

Uzbekistan’s weightlifter claimed the title with 421kg and Iraqi Salwan Jasim Abbood Alaifuri came second with 405kg.
 
Asian Games: Iran’s Mahdizadeh Wins Silver in Karate

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian karateka Amir Mahdizadeh claimed a silver medal in the 2018 Asian Games on Sunday.


Mahdizadeh lost to Indonesian Rifki Ardiansyah Arrosyiid 9-7 in the Men's -60kg Final Contest at the JCC - Plenary Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The bronze medal went to Uzbek practitioner Sadriddin Saymatov and Malaysian Prem Kumar Selvam.
 
Asian Games: Sohrab Moradi Wins Gold in Weightlifting (+Video)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian weightlifter Sohrab Moradi claimed a gold medal in the men's 94kg class at the Asian Games on Saturday.


Moradi hoisted 189kg in the competition's opening discipline to better the snatch record set at 188kg in 1999 by Greece's Akakios Kakiasvilis.

Moradi now has a complete set of world records. He already owned the marks for the clean and jerk (233kg) and total weight (417kg) in the men's light heavyweight division.

He went on to lift a new Asian Games record total of 410kg after a clean and jerk of 221kg.

He just failed with an attempt at 234kg which would have bettered his own world records for the clean and jerk and total lifts.

Fares Elbakh took silver for Qatar's first weightlifting medal of the Games, and Thailand's Sumpradit Sarat won the bronze.

Iranian athletes have already won 12 gold medals in the Games.

Asian Games: Iran Snatches Silver at Women's Lightweight Double Sculls

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran took a silver medal at the Women's Lightweight Double Sculls in the 2018 Asian Games underway in Jakarta, Indonesia.



Nazanin Rahmani and Maryam Omidiparsa came second, clocking 7:48.38.

Liang Guoru and Wu Qiang from China gold medal with a time of 7:40.24.

The bronze medal went to Thailand’s Matinee Raruen and Phuttharaksa Neegree with 7:54.23.
 
Iranian Rower Nazanin Malaei Wins Silver at Asian Games

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Nazanin Malaei claimed a silver medal at the Women's Lightweight Single Sculls in the 2018 Asian Games.


Malaei finished in second place with a time of 8:19.28.

Dandan Pan from China claimed the gold medal, clocking 8:05.79.

The bronze medal went to Ka Man Lee from Hong Kong with a time of 8:27.21.
