Asian Games 2018: Iran Medals

two kabbadi finals are tomorrow (mens and womens, we are in both). always it was india vs iran in the finals and india would always win, but this time iran beat india in the semi finals!

weightlifting starts properly in the next few days

we are doing well in beach volleyball

overall we could be getting much more medals if we supported our women competitors more, but the womens sports don't get enough funding, there is still a culture against it, and the stupid dress codes can't help them, but still they perform amazingly
Islamic dress code should be stopped indeed and all women should take part in all sports. Our medals will be doubled in both asian and olympic games.

Women teams are helping our total place a lot.
Without them we would not be at 4th place of total ranking.

when they win it's in spite of the hijab! it is a hindrance, how can you play beach volleyball in the sun in a stupid costume like that?

make the men wear the stupid islamic costumes and see how it affects their performance you arab idiot

I wanted to like your post, but you defended arab hijab.

Although sensitivity to the needs of Muslim athletes has increased at the elite level, many competitions still include significant structural barriers. The International Basketball Federation, for example, prohibited hijabi athletes from competing in any of its matches or tournaments. The Qatar national team withdrew from the 2014 Asian Games as a result of the ban, as many of their players wore the hijab. This ban was overturned in May 2017. FIFA also instituted a hijab ban in 2011, forcing the Iranian women's team to forfeit an Olympic qualifying match. Such regulations are usually justified based on claims that hijabs are safety threats, increasing athletes' risk of suffocation and heatstroke.[73] To combat this issue, several companies have developed sports hijabs that are no more dangerous than commonplace sports equipment like jerseys and cleats. In response, FIFA has since rescinded its hijab ban and now allows athletes to compete in approved sports hijabs.

Chill bros, Our girls success show Hejab is not limitation. only having plan and be preparing are important,

Man our heavyweight lifting is no longer what it was.... we really need to find a new rezazadeh. Salimi has just not been delivering.

their success is in spite of and limited by hijab and lack of funding and cultural barriers and idiot iranians like you giving them obstacles with your fascist insecure mindset.

True.. That can be seen in wrestling.. Iranian men wrestling is top notch while women wrestling is.. Well sorry never heard of it.

what are you on about? salimi broke the snatch world record a few years ago and won gold at 2012.

since then lasha has established himself as the best and broken the snatch/total world records, not much anyone can do about that, lasha is just incredible. at 2016 the jury screwed behdad out of a silver, but he needs to work on his soft elbows because he also got screwed at the 2017 world champs

but behdad is still the second best 105kg+ weightlifter in the world so to say he hasn't been delivering is not true at all. alihosseini's return is good too, he did very well at the world champs last year (him and salimi came 2nd and 3rd behind lasha) and it will be interesting to see how he progresses after such a long time out

iran's best weightlifter is sohrab moradi though, he's been posting training vids on instagram breaking his own world records (at 94kg) by 6kg! Moradi will win gold easily tomorrow, he could even win gold at 105kg (which he might do now that Rostami has moved up to 94kg):yahoo:

They have some of the best wrestlers in world and it is easier to transition from wrestling to Kabaddi than any other sports..
i don't agree... i think wrestling is closer to wushu (chinese kungfu) than kabaddi, i don't know much about kabaddi (other than our men and women both won gold and ended india's gold dominance for the first time) but the 'take downs' seem more rudimentary rather than technical like a wrestling take down

you are spot on. weightlifting too... but our female rowers/taekwondo/wushu practitioners are some of the best in the world despite the barriers our isalmist regime imposes on them

I don't care what he did in 2011 (yes it was good). We have not won any heavyweight olympic or world title for years. Am I suppose to be impressed?. Sorry but Behdad is just not good enough from what he has been delivering. We need a new heavyweight, it remains to be seen if those others can deliver.
I would not be surprised if lasha turns out to be a dopper. We need to take back our glory in heavy weights.
