Asian Cycling: India Visa woes hit Iran, Pakistan

India has the right to issue Visas to whomever it deems deserving, every sovereign nation reserves this right. No one can really comment about this news whilst it is unclear on what grounds the Visas were denied.

Well India have the right to issue visas to every one they like . But if you accept to host such international events its your duty to issue visas for every participants , otherwise the federation of that sport and Olympic committee won't look to good toward you specially if the country who could not participate was a powerhouse and hopeful for that field

Visa cleared for cyclists from Iran, China

Following widespread criticism and requests from the International Cycling Union (UCI) and the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), the Home Ministry gave green signal for the 46-member Iran and 30-member China teams, for the Asian cycling championships, on Tuesday.

In a late post on its website, the Cycling Federation of Islamic Republic of Iran (CFIRI) said that the first group of Iranian national team riders and officials would fly to India on Wednesday.

As soon as the Ministry of Home Affairs cleared visas, the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) informed both national federations. “I have sent the emails and telephoned them so that they could pursue the matter with their respective Indian embassies.

“However, cyclists from Pakistan and Afghanistan have not got the clearance,” said CFI secretary general Onkar Singh.

Simple Pakistan coz U know the Kashmir Mujahedin story so lots of security paper work needs to be done to get visa. With Iran the bomb blast in Delhi related to Israel.

It's not just Kargil I'm talking about but also 2001 Parliament attacks, 26/11, ongoing and historic support for terrorists activities in India and those trying to infiltrate into India. You can deny all you like but the world and India knows what Pakistan has done and if your govt/army/ISI are not above attacking innocent civilians then why should India be above excluding Pakistan from any sporting events hosted on Indian soil?



Despite all the nonsense you are spouting out about India being unsafe,unfair,whatever there is only one nation in S.Asia where international sports teams have been attacked and there is only one nation in S.Asia where international sporting events are pretty much banned from being staged- and it is NOT India.

Another pre requisite should be that the country wanting to host the event should have some 'balls'.
A scaredy cat country still soiling their pant over dead kassab shouldnt be given mental depression and sleepless nights by asking them to host a 'sporting event' where well vetted,well kmown and security checked 'sportsmen' are sent to 'play'.
