Ashraf Ghani has been focused on the relationship with Pakistan during his election campaign.
He described his policy is a "copy" of the France-Germany success after the world wars, and their economic dependence on eachother.

I read it and i disagree. France and Germany are historic enemies with a long history of animosity and warfare.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have no such history. Example of UAE is more relevent in our case.

Well the perspective of the point was not meant in that way.

What actually was stated is that these two countries had fought two world wars against eachother, and afterwards there where a massive mistrust between them, but the economic factor (dependence) have made them close allies since then, even though they claimed eachothers land (as in the Af-Pak situation).

I think Abdullah Abdullah would have been much better for Afghanistan and Pakistan. He was a fighter and had some sort of relationship with Pakistani Establishment (whether good or bad). I thought Pakistan could have more responsive relationship with Abdullah than Ashraf.

I hope he is a pragmatic person unlike Karzai. Pakistani govt, military and establishment is willing to work with whoever runs Afghanistan. Pakistan has given up mediation efforts which testifies that it no longer seeks depth in Afghanistan. We no longer need it.
