Assembly of National Defense Commission, headed by Oguz Kaan Koksal visited Aselsan and Defense Industry Undersecretariat and he were heralded with 6 new domestic submarine news. It is unkown if the 6 new submarine Yeni Tip Denizaltı (AIP) Projesi Type-214TN or extra

@Aeronaut, probably a misinterpretation or an exaggeration of Type-214TN. They will be locally produced conventional AIP submarines, originally designed by HDW of Germany.

We will replace older Atılay class(Type209-1200) with them. An order for these submarines have been in place since the last year and if there's another project involving R&D it wasn't made public.

The news source doesn't seem to be one of the mainstream media enterprises but... I'm sorry it's just joint production.
