The South China Sea is a major route for LNG trade, and in 2016, almost 40 percent of global LNG trade, or about 4.7 trillion cubic feet (Tcf), passed through the South China Sea.

The two LNG exporters Malaysia and Qatar collectively accounted for more than 60 percent of total South China Sea LNG volumes in 2016. Almost half of Qatar’s global LNG shipments traveled through the South China Sea in 2016. All of Malaysia’s LNG exports pass through the South China Sea, as the country’s one LNG export complex lies on the South China Sea coast.

Several other LNG exporters also use South China Sea trade routes to reach LNG importers. In 2016, Oman, Brunei, and the United Arab Emirates shipped between 84 percent and 100 percent of their total LNG exports through the South China Sea.

Other LNG exporters in the region, such as Australia and Indonesia, make more use of other trade routes to reach LNG markets. In 2016, about 23 percent of total Australian LNG exports and about 29 percent of Indonesian LNG exports were shipped by way of the South China Sea. Much of the remainder of Australia’s and Indonesia’s LNG exports passed to the east of the Philippines and Taiwan, avoiding the South China Sea on the way to customers in Japan, South Korea, and northern China.

The four LNG importers with the largest volumes passing through the South China Sea are Japan, South Korea, China, and Taiwan, collectively accounting for 94 percent of total LNG volumes going through the South China Sea in 2016. Japan is the world’s largest LNG importer, and slightly more than half of all of Japan’s LNG imports in 2016 were shipped by way of the South China Sea. Similarly, about two-thirds of the LNG imported by South Korea, the world’s second-largest LNG importer, was shipped through the South China Sea that year.

Yup pro mainland forumers are so good in denial, I still remember how they convince people that trade with China will eventually forced UK and Germany to sign up for Huawei.
I've seen similar patterns everytime with chinese forumers here.

The west are already an advanced and wealthy nation when they dont even have 1% access to china's market.

It is in the best Interest of Indonesia to side with the eventual winners of this cold war 2.0. Just like we did when we side with the winners of the cold war 1.0.
In the long run the US has all the cards, I cant imagine if Indonesia continue its relationship with soviet union and china under sukarno. Indonesia will be a very different country right now.

As I said before, we are ok with US led global order since our independence and we dont need to seek an inferior alternative.

And even in a hypothetical situation which China collapse, it's bad for us if they are in a turmoil like in Mao's days.

Like it or not, China is our perpetual neighbour and a prosperous China is good for ASEAN.

However what's important is that you don't get beholden by an increasing powerful and confident China (or any power for that matter) from time to time if you don't defer to their interest, and for that we need a balance of power so that no single power can dominate the region.

Therefore the wiser way is not to isolate China but to expand and deepen links with other countries in the world as well. The US, Japan, Europe, India, Latin America etc.

What I'm trying to convey here is we should let the status quo stay, the US led world orders sure a better option than china's. And if china is determined to chage that status quo, we should prevent them to do so.

We don’t have anything against a prosperous China. But we have everything against their policy of military aggression. It is in the best interest of Vietnam’s if China is militarily weakened.

We had 300 years peace period during the Le’s, because we could maintain a military balance with China. That’s our goal today just in some sorts of similar form.
