What's new

'Arrogant' US is just a 'shooting star in the ample sky of history,' says Chinese state media

China reformed into a market economy in the 1970's, long before the collapse of communism in 1991. :P

What collapsed in 1991 was India's old boss, the USSR who didn't reform in time. Along with much of Eastern Europe.

And when we need to reminder who is whose boss...then we'll remind you that till Sino-USSR split,Beijing's policy and military doctrines were directed by USSR.

USSR never got foothold in India, held no leverage on India. But USSR used China against every war in the Far East.Kindly revisit history of yours to get a grip over reality and doesn't get swiped away by PDF waves.

except 2 commi states(China and Cuba, but Cuba made negotiation with USA,so did China when they revised their market and let USA in),everything got destroyed and carefully preserved in Museum.

.
Enough of if and but's, what if the U.S collapse etc.

First try and understand that China is the same country that still accepts millions in the name of Aid from U.S.A. So show the balls enough to say a big NO to those aids. Then think about becoming a sole superpower. LOL :rofl::rofl:

Well I guess you guys do have to suck up to the Westerners now, after India sold their national sovereignty to the US military by signing the LEMOA. :P

The overwhelming share of foreign assistance came from one source - Japan - with its ODA during early stage of Dengxiaoping's reform, say soft loans, tech transfer, famous examples are Beijing airport, Chongqing Metro, Shanghai Baosteel, 4600 km of electrified railway extension, 4 million tons/day of sewage treatment infra, and numerous fertilizer plants, hydro-engineering, forestry projects. By 2003 JICA had accepted a cumulative total of over 15,000 trainees, and the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) had accepted more than 22,000 trainees to nurture the human resources required for industrialisation. These are followed at a large distance by all other sources combined, say UNDP, ADB, and US is almost nowhere in sight.

Don't even try "US investing and creating jobs" through FDI to China, when it's overwhelmingly dominated by one single source - Hong Kong - and followed by Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan to roundup the top five.

And better not mention US at all, when these tiny "assistance" monies are funding Tibetan separatist or other anti-government programs, but such pathetic amount wouldn't work, debt-laden US should've borrowed a lot more to fund against Beijing. Anyway it's good to see Beijing clamping down those so-called "NGO", and see so-called "assistance" kicked out despite being even so tiny. Maybe it's time for surplus-flooded Beijing to send meaningful amount of "assistance" to deficit-stricken Washington.

Sino-USSR split exactly because we had independent policy! We were no India, who had no foreign policy to begin with, as you were a pawn of the British. Small wonder you had to beg for Britain's big brother, the US, to intervene in 1962 war. When help didn't come, you bent over backward to sleep with USSR instead.

Well you can think whatever you want. But it's significance will be proved when time comes. :-)

The aid coming to China is miniscule as compared to the aid it provides to other low-level developing countries. Most of the aid to China comes through UN programs, for which any country could be applicable.

Let's not forget that China is a major developing nation with lots of development aspects be to be fully realized.

The US aid has been declining for years and it was around $6 million in 2013. It must be much lower at the moment. I am not sure where it went to but China has since increased supervision so that the allocated funds would not be politicized for selfish geopolitical interests.

As for China's aid:

"From 2010 to 2012, China appropriated in total 89.34 billion yuan (14.41 billion U.S. dollars) for foreign assistance in three types: grant (aid gratis), interest-free loan and concessional loan.

Grant is mainly offered to help recipient countries build small or medium-sized social welfare projects, and to fund human resources development cooperation, technical cooperation, material assistance and emergency humanitarian aid. In the three years, China provided 32.32 billion yuan of grants, accounting for 36.2 percent of the total assistance volume.

Interest-free loan is mainly used to help recipient countries construct public facilities and launch projects to improve people’s livelihood. In the three years, China offered 7.26 billion yuan of interest-free loans, taking up 8.1 percent of its foreign assistance volume.

Concessional loan is mainly used to help recipient countries undertake manufacturing projects and large and medium-sized infrastructure projects with economic and social benefits, or for the supply of complete plants, machinery and electronic products. In the three years, the concessional loans China provided to other countries amounted to 49.76 billion yuan, or 55.7 percent of its total assistance volume in the same period."

While I am not contesting your opinion, what I want to say is that even though little weak that few decades back, USA is still too big and opponent to China. :(

China may very well become a world super power in future, but at present you are second only to U.S.A and there is a big gap between the first and second. :)

It is not an opinion. It is an analysis based on readily available data.

As for superpower, China is not one. It has never claimed to be so. No single Chinese leader or bureaucrat argued that China is a superpower.

There has been a universal understanding that India is the one with the most yearning for a superpower title.

Hence your leaderships have periodically declared India a superpower. Of course I will not pass any judgement as to how other living souls in the world would take a country with sub-Sharan development level as a superpower.

That's between them and you.

You need to use your call-center and software capability to convince them.
