No it is not. It will merely re-affirm the futility of staying longer in Afghanistan and thus support Trump's position/reason for leaving.
US will eventually pullout but we all know Taliban will reign in Afghanistan. Question is what does Taliban want, full control or partial control. If they want full control they would need to know how to manage the country well and will be responsible for peoples livelihood and future. If they just want military control and let Afghans deal with civilian authority then they should be clear. That would help ceasefire talks and help explain their agenda to their people.
