No it is not. It will merely re-affirm the futility of staying longer in Afghanistan and thus support Trump's position/reason for leaving.

US will eventually pullout but we all know Taliban will reign in Afghanistan. Question is what does Taliban want, full control or partial control. If they want full control they would need to know how to manage the country well and will be responsible for peoples livelihood and future. If they just want military control and let Afghans deal with civilian authority then they should be clear. That would help ceasefire talks and help explain their agenda to their people.

There is no information about this on The Guardian or WaPo etc. These casualties are pretty high, I am gonna wait for more information on this.

Talibans like exaggerating stuff whatever they claim divide it by factor of 10

hmmm, are they also affected by Indian media? Or such BS is viral these days in this part of the world.
I guess they were always like this
Once I was watching a documentary in which young taliban forgot to put batteries in remote of IED and missed his target but when he came back to camp he told his commander they destroyed 2 tanks and killed half a dozen murtads and infidels

Who was running it before US came?

I believe It will only re-affirm their commitment to re-engage and pass the buck onto us and tell us its cross border not accepting their own failures for over a decade this will make our neighbours happy as they dont want them leaving yet either

that is a massive exaggeration .. Killing 70 American soldiers is not piece of cake .

This is a step back if not many for the current peace process. This may harden US Hawks stance to stay and add more fire power, just what India wants, US to Stay so it could play.
I agree, if this is true, it would be bad for the peace process and eventually really bad for Pakistan. Although I strongly believe that taliban are a nuisance to the regional peace, but they have managed to stay relevant and must be dealt with peacefully to minimize human cost. I am suspecting something falling out during the recent talks which prompted such a massive assault.
