Parents who are going to bring children in the west have a huge responsibility. They must develop aptitude to balance things and adjust according to the environment otherwise they risk running into huge problems.

I would also request you to bring more Pakistani females to the forum. It is very healthy to hear view points from opposite gender. It may very well serve us to become better husbands , fathers and men as a whole.

You sound like a good man Mr pakpride, I can honestly tell you that my father was one of the few people in our community who tried raising issues such as raising and treating children fairly and equally. Important issues such as forced marriage and why it's wrong to give sons complete freedom to party, drink, drugs and sleep around with white women and then demand a virgin wife which usually comes via pakistan as wrong.

Not only was my father's derided on many occasions but many of my dad's friends and aquintances stopped socialising with him altogether because my father dare point out their hypocrisy. This is why things have not improved in our community and we have not integrated aswell as other communities.

Your statements remind of me of the incident when hazart Umar (RA) admonished muslim men from marrying non-muslim women even though it is legally allowed. He said that , doing such actions will build resentment among muslim women.

I have see such hypocrisy and it really is painful to read such tragic stories. Treating women in such ways will either force them to shun Islam/Pak community or push them into extreme forms of feminism which is equally bad. The solution is to trust them and treat them fairly. I hope they realize this before its too late.

Linda sarsour is an arab with different values. Even though I disagree with her on few occasions but overall , she is at least ringing muslim issues in mainstream media. Sometimes , you gotta ignore the undesirable traits for greater objective.

The important thing is to raise women with proper attitude at home. Once a strong foundation is laid , it becomes very difficult to shake them.
